For those of you who are following the Alaska 1282 737 MAX 9 investigation, this is a very useful video from Chris Brady, in the UK, which explains how the plug door works. Based on the information released to date, it appears that the upper rail guides failed (NTSB statement). So either the guide rails were faulty (unlikely) or some other failure (e.g., on the lower hinges) resulted in them being overstressed. It is significant that the upper rollers appear to be intact and attached to the airframe. Could be that the lower locking bolts were either loose or missing (it will be interesting to hear more information from the airlines on what they're finding). https://lnkd.in/gsB_CavM
