Chief Executive Officer, and Professor and Kenneth L. Davis, MD, Distinguished Chair, Mount Sinai Health System
It's remarkable to see how the pandemic has reshaped our understanding of the intersection between public health and #healthcare. We delved into the critical importance of seamless collaboration between these sectors. Our conversation highlighted how, in an ideal world, the public might not distinguish between public health efforts and health care services. For instance, in managing infectious diseases like measles and syphilis, health care providers diagnose individual cases, while public health teams conduct contact tracing and community education. This dynamic interplay ensures comprehensive disease management and community protection. #AspenIdeasHealth #AspenIdeas #WeFindAWay
Brendan G. Carr, MD, MA, MS thank you for highlighting the intersection and difference between public health and healthcare. It is so important for both to work together and I look forward to helping continue this conversation as we at KPMG US work with both our healthcare clients and public health agencies across the US on critical needs such as preparing for a health crisis or emergent events that result in large-scale healthcare needs.
It is Wonderful insight & It’s amazing to see how united efforts in public health and healthcare can protect and enhance community health.
Great to have an ED doc and seasoned DEM leader at the head of a large delivery system...
Brendan, please let's get connected. I have nurses in Ghana who want to work with Mount Snai
Senior Care Authority-Nashville-Mid TN: No-Cost Placement Expert, Health Care Navigator/Advocate/Eldercare Consultant/ Parkinson’s Expert, Dementia Intervention.
2wPlease tell me Dr. Carr how to Bridge the Gap. Post people don’t know how to navigate portals (especially seniors) and does anyone know when they are in fear of dying or have dementia? What about Parkinson’s. There is still, as there has always been, No progress between MD’s unfortunately and unrealistic time constraints and the seemingly War between Administrators. Try being a post acute Health Navigator, 90% of the time they don’t comprehend or understand their POC. What you suggest; I’m trying. I could literally die trying.
