Executive Vice President, Global CIO at McDonald’s Corporation

1979 was a big year for McDonald’s: the Happy Meal was born, the first McDonald’s opened in Singapore, and perhaps most important, it was the year that David Lloyd, IOM SVP CTO, began his career with the Golden Arches. During his 45-year tenure, David’s been instrumental in bringing to life transformational technology that has fueled our growth and has been a champion for our markets. He also has cultivated and mentored many McDonald’s technology leaders along the way. Please join me in congratulating David on this significant milestone! We’re grateful for all you’ve done and continue to do to put a shine on the Golden Arches. #PoweredByMCDTech

I remember wearing that uniform from '76 - '79

Dear Brian, I always had a strong connection to the USA, so I always wanted to work for American companies. In 1979 there were 2 offices in Germany: Munich and Cologne. 1979 was a big and important year also for me. I started in Cologne on the 1st of June. I worked at McDonald's in the real estate department and was responsible for all P&L statements for the branches. I was in charge of HR for a few months when the HR manager was ill. It was “my” company. I have always identified with the company and have carried out my work with passion, as in the following companies. During my 5 years at McDonald's, I laid the foundation for my further successful positions at McDonnell Douglas, former EDS and Unigraphics. Today, after 45 years, I still have relationships with former licensees and I don´t like any other burgers than those from McDonald's 😎 . All the best for you. Angela-C. Schulze

Does David remember the McDonald’s All-American High School Band? Alumni from years 1967-1988 have all found each other on social media and have been performing (all years) for the past 5 years. McDonald’s should sponsor this group if they make it into the 2026 Macy’s Parade.

I came to McDonalds Corp Oak Brook in 1978. From 1983 to 1992 I was in charge of procurement and implementation of office technology for the Corp. It was a time when tech was racing along and every day something new arrived at my office. I was involved in the first email, first web site and so much more. Congratulations David.
