I've helped exceptional UK businesses like M&S and Carphone Warehouse scale their businesses and build phenomenal cultures by hiring the right people. Now I help SMEs hire their senior teams and help you grow too.

Transferable skills…..🧐 Hiring people from other sectors can bring real added benefits to some businesses especially in new sectors or sectors where there is a shortage of candidates. You just need to make sure you have a thorough process to test those skills or you could make some costly mistakes…see below 😩 Happy National Pets Day all…..

Hiring people from other sectors creates a platform for learning and unlearning. Creates room of exchange of knowledge but it is important to have the right skills . Happy National Pets Day to you too. Looks like my fur baby Paddy will be getting lots of treats today Bridie Cunningham 😋

I would definitely hire that pooch!!

There can be numerous benefits to hiring candidates from other sectors, including fresh perspectives, diverse skill sets and the potential for innovation and cross-pollination of ideas. Unfortunately, due to perceived risk, the vast majority of employers will continue to prioritise candidates with industry-specific experience and proven track records.

I know industries that are closed to "outsiders" at their peril. Inbreeding is not good for the gene pool...

Haha love this 😂 Great message though. Many skills are transferrable and we may even learn something new from a candidate from another sector.
