Financial Coach | Speaker | Debt-Free | I paid off $55,000 in 3.5 years making under $60,000 a year.
I paid off around $55,000 in 3 1/2 years while earning less than $60,000 by first changing my mindset, believing that I could become debt-free and finding opportunities to make extra money outside of my 9-5 work. I wanted to provide 3 practical ways on how to shift your money mindset on your debt-free journey. 1. Recognize the power of perception: Understand that what you see is just one perspective or interpretation of reality. Your perception may be influenced by biases, limited information, or personal beliefs. Remind yourself that there are always multiple angles to consider especially when it comes to paying off debt, increasing your income, investing, etc. Also, avoid having a victim mentality and work on having an abundance mindset. 2. Set goals and take action: Define your goals based on your aspirations, passions, and values, rather than being confined by what you currently see as achievable. Break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps and take consistent action towards them. By actively working towards managing your finances and learning more about it, you expand your financial knowledge and prove to yourself that you can go beyond what you initially perceived as limitations, and you will find more opportunities to learn and make more money. 3. Surround yourself with supportive influences: Seek out individuals who encourage and support your debt free journey. Surrounding yourself with positive and empowering influences can help you challenge self-imposed limitations and inspire you to reach your financial goals. Remember, improving your money mindset is an ongoing process. By consciously challenging your perceptions, staying open-minded, and taking proactive steps, you can break free from debt and limiting beliefs. If you feel overwhelmed by your debt and need help organizing your finances, feel free to reach out to me. You got this! #financialcoach #debtfree #speaker
Wow that's impressive! 😮 Was this with living expenses like rent, utilities, child care, transportation and anything? And the less than 60 is before taxes, right?
Very well said! The book of Daniel talks about the way Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself… when we make decisions not just in our minds but in our hearts it is sure to happen it becomes a desire that is so undeniable almost nothing can remove that want!
You first need to locate and be offered a position at a salary level that can sustain your current needs, work toward paying down and/or off your debt level, and save toward retirement. I have been looking for an extended period (1 year+) and am no closer to securing such a role. Great advice - hopefully younger career oriented individuals will read and take it to heart.
Congratulations on your incredible achievement of paying off $55,000 in debt in such a short time! Your practical tips on shifting the money mindset are invaluable for anyone on a debt-free journey. Recognizing the power of perception, setting goals, and surrounding oneself with supportive influences are key steps towards financial freedom. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and offering assistance to those in need. Well done!
