Now to see if the results live up to the hype. Make it happen Brightline West Trains! You guys and California High-Speed Rail Authority are bringing true high speed rail to the US, something long overdue here, with the first trains set to begin running by the end of this decade.
If you can get revenue trains running by the LA Olympics, that would be incredible, and hopefully that gives a major boost in support and funding to California HSR to accelerate their timeline to get their first revenue trains running sooner, as well as begin construction on their extensions to SF and LA by 2030.
As a retired railroader, intimately associated with the basic track infrastructure, I am curious as to how you will get rail, ties, and ballast into the center divider of I 15 with no direct rail connection to your C1 neighbor, UPRR. The most logical connection point seems to be at Erie siding, miles south of your start point at I 15 and hwy 160.
Listen to my take on the latest CSO house price data on RTE Drivetime...
Yesterday's CSO release on Residential Property Prices (RPPI) further confirmed trends evident in the market since the middle of 2023. Nationally, prices rose 2.9% in the 12 months to November, while in Dublin they rose 0.9%. For Dublin, this represents the first return to annual price growth since April 2023. This was expected, following consistent month on month price growth since June. Interestingly, while the regions were leading the way for price inflation, this has changed, with Dublin now in line if not ahead of national growth on a monthly or 3 month moving basis. This is a change from 2022 and the start of 2023.
Accounting for inflation, real price growth in Dublin remains in negative territory annually, however has also witnessed growing month on month increases since July, and therefore would be expected to enter back into positive territory this year if trends with CPI and the RPPI continue as they are.

Spotlight on Efficiency: Jamie Macmillan of North Melbourne Football Club on VLAST 🦘🌟
Jamie Macmillan, Head of Strategic Operations at North Melbourne FC, emphasises the integral role of VLAST in their workflow: "Using VLAST alongside our AMS significantly enhances the efficiency in which we operate."
He continues to highlight the transformative impact of VLAST, stating that without it, the club would have to revert to less efficient methods with "very limited reporting."
It's testimonials like Jamie's that underscore the value of VLAST in streamlining sports management processes. If your club is ready to leave behind the cumbersome old ways of emails and paper for a more efficient, data-driven approach, VLAST is the solution.

No innovation has shaped the Bay Area in the past 70 years more than BART; for all its imperfections, it remains a powerful riposte to the hegemony of automobiles.
That's why I'm thrilled to be part of an April 12 panel at fearsome Wurster Hall titled "From There To Here: 50 Years of BART and UC Berkeley." BART director Rebecca Salzman is the moderator, and the rest of the panel is much smarter than me. Here's the info -- and if you care why aspirational planning is worth the trouble, please come by:

"EVs are never going to catch on… Well… I don’t know what you’re reading but they have already caught on…” ~ Albert Parnell
Make sure you catch Yann Marston and Albert Parnell, who certainly make for an entertaining duo, in the full episode of Lead the Charge out now!

Read on to hear char.gy’s take…
With a conservative estimate placing the average EV range at 211 miles and the average journey in the UK being just 11 miles, those still grappling with range anxiety are either confused or actually experiencing what is being coined as ‘charge point anxiety’.
This concern revolves around the accessibility of charge points, which at an extreme level is drivers needing the assurance that they will be able to charge wherever, whenever.
Now thats a pretty unnecessary level of certainty in the real world, and this anxeity, to whatever degree it is felt, tends to dissipate quickly for most when they start driving an EV. However, at this stage, our infrastructure IS inadequate to meet the needs of ALL UK communities and inspire the confidence for many more to get behind the EV wheel.
As an industry, it is our responsibility to address this concern through education and sharing personal experiences, just as Yann Marston and Albert Parnell do here. But it is also vital for us to build an infrastructure that instils confidence and addresses those for whom this is a significant issue.
Listen to Yann Marston as he describes how the char.gy model is making the switch make sense for everyone in this episode!

Our daily reminder of why we do what we do at Travis Perkins Doncaster! 👏🏻
Our Why?
💫 Our family
💫 Our friend’s
💫 Our future
💫 Our dreams
💫 Our togetherness
💫 Our commitment
Henry Ford famously stated, "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." Here's a fun fact about me: I'm an avid roller coaster enthusiast. The exhilaration of speed, towering heights, and the challenge of pushing human ingenuity to its limits for the sheer joy of it has always captivated me. Consider the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point Amusement Park, which, when it debuted in 2003, held the title of the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster. It was groundbreaking, introducing an innovative hydraulic launch system. However, as time passed, it became notorious for its maintenance challenges and was even deemed a hazard to guests, ultimately costing the park more than it was worth. Fast forward to 2024, and it has been transformed into the world’s tallest and fastest triple-launch coaster.
You might be wondering why I'm sharing this. The point is that in our rapidly evolving digital era, continuous innovation is imperative. We need to adapt and change in response to shifts in economics, scientific discoveries, and new exploratory frontiers, among other factors. These changes impact the speed and manner in which we must innovate or reinvent ourselves and our methods.
So, when your current workflows begin to hinder your profitability, affect your output, or pose risks to you or your clients, it's crucial to reflect and ask, "How can we improve?" Don't wait for your clients to demand change; proactively seek opportunities to add value and stay ahead of the curve. Aim to be the outlier.
