The Disability Player Pathway and talent identification structure for deaf footballers is different to that for hearing footballers. It includes opportunities to compete in mainstream, disability and deaf-specific competitions. Some deaf children and young people may prefer to participate in mainstream football as there are more opportunities to play in a wide range of matches against the very best footballers. Others may prefer to participate in deaf football as it may be more socially and culturally appealing. From April 2024 the WHS will be implementing changes that will affect all golfers. These changes have come about after the four-year review which the Rules of Handicapping go through. Please click the video below for an overview of these changes which include: • The introduction of "Course rating minus par",  • Fourball better-ball scores counting towards handicaps, • Changes to how un-played holes are counted towards handicap scores There are other elements of this change that will not affect our course but are worth us all knowing for when we visit other courses. #Golf #GolfSheffield #Sheffield

A third category of sports for humans is not a win for civilization & it is not a compromise. It is the goal. There is no third sex, or a “no sex” category of humanity. The goal of gender ideology is to create one to which special rights are given. This clears a path for augmented humanity and rights for people to be augmented at an entirely new level than is currently allowed. This is the point. #StayHuman @11thBlog

An important conversation I'm pleased to be a part of! The nuanced intersection of gender and non-accidental violence in women's gymnastics. 🤸♀️ Insights: While gender and violence are often discussed separately, there is a connection between the two that has largely been overlooked in gymnastics research. We found that gender when viewed in structural terms, tends to remain implicit in discussions of violence. On the other hand, explicit discussions of violence often neglect to address the gendered dimensions at play. Only a single article made the explicit connection between gender and violence, recognising violence as a gendered outcome. Been a great start to semester 2 leading the new Effective Coaching in Paralympic Sport module. Drawing on the ParaCoach eLearning course and support from external agencies, students have engaged in a learning journey that attempts to help them become reflexive about the ways ableism influences sporting practice.
