Most stairs are not dramatically different today. ➡ The 19th century is regarded by many as the golden era of stair construction. In the 20th century architects gave prominence to lifts. Good Day All! I've been doing the March 3000 Pushup Challenge for St. Jude's and happy to report I surpassed the challenge goal on the pushup end. I honestly can say I have not done more than a 100 pushups in the last decade. What may not be a challenge for some I thought this would be a challenge for me for sure. And it is both a mental and a physical challenge. Each day I made it a goal to do the same number or greater and push some mental limits. Some days pushing forward and some days pulling back. Then once things were rolling started to really challenge myself. First 200 pushups in a day then 300, then 500 and crazy enough for me why not 1000 pushups in a day. On Saturday I woke up thinking how about getting to 600 again? Then after hitting 350 by noon thought 750 for the day would be a good goal. When I got to 600 by 4pm said let's see what the 60 year old could do and hopefully without wrecking havoc to the body so lets go for it -- lets try for 1000 today. After suffering through some pain and lots of fatigue 1000+ had been reached. Sore, tired and sense of accomplishment was the result. Just because we reached our personal goal and a met the challenge we keep going because there is a mountain that is even higher. So whatever the case, set your goals high and challenge yourself. Continue to evaluate and make changes to get there. We may fail but there is no failure in pushing to get to your goals. Next up in this challenge is pushing to get $3,000.00 in funds raised from donations (or higher) and for me reach 9,000 pushups for the month. If are able to donate I'll send you a link or search on my Facebook page... The personal challenge is nothing compared to what the kids at St. Jude's battle. This is not meant to be self-promoting but it is meant to challenge ourselves against ourselves to see what we can accomplish if we have goals (not matter the size of the goal) and we set our minds to it, and we push through the pain to make a positive change.

🌄 Day 11 of #FredsBigRun – I caught the sunrise, and yesterday we smashed our funding goal right out of the park with an incredible 158%!! 🙌 Thank you, everyone, for the mind-blowing support! From colleagues to customers, friends to partners – people from all corners united for this cause. I'm overflowing with gratitude that words can't fully express. 🙏 But guess what? We're not stopping here. With an extra 100km under my belt, let's double down on success and aim for 200%! 🚀 Get ready for more action ahead. Teamwork at its finest!🙌 Today's run had an early start as I dashed through suburbs and added two extra laps for good measure. A total of 7km logged, and I decided to challenge my pace – clocking a 5.5-minute 1km stretch. Not bad for starters, but I'm determined to push for the whole stretch. Where there's a will, there's a way! 🎯 Stepping back to the heart of this challenge: Fred Hollows and The Fred Hollows Foundation. What exactly is avoidable blindness? In developing countries, a staggering 9 out of 10 people who suffer from blindness could have avoided it. Eye conditions like cataracts, trachoma, and diabetic retinopathy shouldn't steal sight. They're treatable or preventable, but the catch is access to quality eye care. 🏥 A 10-minute operation or a simple dose of antibiotics can be life-changing. It's the injustice of poverty that denies millions their sight. This fuels our mission relentlessly.
