Stop by the Elmwood Zoo for today’s 18th Annual Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. 30 vendors are stationed at the pavilion to share a variety of mental health resources. And visit our Director of Business Development, Ellyn at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital table. July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness about the unique mental health challenges faced by minority communities. This observance aims to promote understanding, advocacy, and support for mental health issues that disproportionately affect racial and ethnic minorities. By acknowledging these challenges and fostering open dialogue, we can work towards creating more inclusive and equitable mental health care systems. Let's use this month to amplify diverse voices, educate ourselves, and advocate for accessible mental health resources for all. Together, we can promote mental wellness and support for every individual in our communities. #MinorityMentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAwareness #BIPOCMentalHealth #accessiblecare Source: KFF Survey on Racism, Discrimination, and Health (June 6- August 14, 2023)

𝗠𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀! Gentlemen, it's time to rise up, lend our voices and take action against the mental health stigma. Today, I want to introduce you to a fierce warrior in this fight - Jess, a PhD student at the University of Leeds and part of the Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research Group. Jess is tirelessly working on improving the experiences and safety of those transitioning from inpatient mental health care to community living. The aim? To understand the challenges and support required during this critical period, straight from the people who have lived it. But she can't do this alone. She needs us - service users, carers, and advocates - to join her in this mission. By sharing our experiences in an interview study, we can help shape better, safer transitions for others exiting inpatient mental health care. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲? An interview lasting up to 1 hour. Flexibility with the format - face-to-face, Teams, or telephone, depending on your preference. A £25 voucher as a token of appreciation for your time and input. 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲? Individuals aged 18-65 years who have been discharged from an acute adult inpatient mental health ward within the past 2 years and been living in the community for at least 30 days. OR a carer of someone who fits the above description. For more information and to check your eligibility, please follow this link: https://lnkd.in/eq38rd9G Let's stand together, share our stories, and make a difference. Black barber shops have long served as more than just a place to get a haircut – it's a haven for the community, a place to discuss life's challenges and triumphs, and no one knows this more than Ivelaw. This #InternationalMensDay, see how NHS North Central London ICB and Islington Council have partnered with local barber shops, like Ivelaw’s, to deliver the innovative Barbers Round Chair Project and make a real difference in mental health support. The project aims to break down barriers to mental health support and create safe pathways into community mental health services. Barbers are trained in how to become mental health ambassadors and talk to clients about their mental health in a safe space and signpost them to professional support when needed. This initiative serves as a testament to how the NHS continues to work with partners to reduce mental health inequalities. Well done Ivelaw for being a beacon of support and a true community leader! 💙 #MentalHealth #HealthInequalities #ZeroMaleSuicide
