The NYC Mayor's Office of Talent and Workforce Development was thrilled to release the Green Economy Action Plan with its partners The New York City Economic Development Corporation, Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, and Trust for Governors Island. The plan identifies the specific green economy occupations and jobs that will be on the frontlines of addressing climate change. It also creates robust pathways to connect New Yorkers to family sustaining green collar jobs, so everyone can participate in and benefit from an inclusive green economy that will grow to 400,000 jobs, including 12,000 apprenticeships by 2040! The Adams administration is focused on protecting and safeguarding New Yorkers and the Green Economy Action Plan is a critical way to ensure NYC is prepared to address the impacts of climate change, remedy past environmental injustices, and position NYC to be a leader in the green economy.
