Our team's work on the StudioRes brand continues. “StudioRes is a unique addition to the Marriott portfolio, combining the essentials of economy extended-stay to meet the needs and standards of Bonvoy travelers,” said Culin A. Thompson, AIA, WELL AP, BRR associate and lead architect. “If we had taken the same design approach as past economy extended-stay hotels, we wouldn't have met the goals of all parties involved in helping to drive a new brand forward. Every aspect of this project needed to be critically analyzed and adapted to meet guest, developer and Marriott expectations.”

Where in the world is BRR? We’re in Kansas City, Missouri for a site visit at WoodSpring Suites' new 49,000-square-foot location. This extended-stay hotel is four stories and features 122 guestrooms. The team performed an Accessibility Site Observation for the contractor and brought a few extra teammates out to the field to learn more about the process. The Bluffs is a mixed-use and multifamily development concept that spans over a seven-acre site and was designed to flourish in the natural environment of the Midwest. BRR designers sought to blend aesthetic with function to create a mixed-use design that was inspired by environmental features.
