Why is it always posted like a Suprise... I feel like Vizzini from Princess Bride.
The Heartbeat of Data-Driven Healthcare Success and the most trusted profession is nurses...?
Nurses make huge impact at Vive? What a great concept!
As a passionate advocate for clinicians and nurses in leadership roles, I've witnessed the transformative impact of firsthand, real-world evidence knowledge in driving success in healthcare. Too often, companies play at being healthcare entities without truly embodying the essence of clinical expertise.
Sure, there may be a Chief Clinical whatever...mostly because of regulations and pesky compliance... we need clinicians (usually a MD) in a C suite role. But if most decision-making, leadership, feedback, product development, and team composition lack clinical insight, like Relevant and Recent...then it's merely a facade of a healthcare company.
However, there are champions leading the charge for change. At #vive2024 this year, while I wasn't physically present, I was cheering on the few RNs who were, because that's what RNs do—we support and lift each other up. I was happy to see some panels with RN experience promoting innovation in healthcare and providing invaluable clinical perspectives on the main stage. And to was great to see the Nurse Innovation Center allowing more networking and synergies.
But despite these strides, there's still a noticeable gap. As a RN it was VERY difficult to get a pass to gain access to #vive2024; so I did not attend although it was a bucket list item for me this year.
While main stages may feature clinicians, in the startup and digital health trenches, they seem few and far between. Not always, but most of the time.
All I have to say is this...
If clinicians aren't leading, it's not a healthcare company; it's a tech company who happenstance is in the business of healthcare.
Cheers to the clinicians and nurses out there building and leading the way toward a brighter, data-driven future for healthcare. #ClinicianLeadership #NurseLeadership #DataDrivenHealthcare #Innovation #nursesonlinkedin
