Top 3 proudest days of my life, welcoming my boy to this world! Named after two great men whose legacy and teaching will live on! 1. Never shake a man’s hand sitting down. 2. Don’t enter a pool by the stairs. 3. The man at the BBQ Grill is the closest thing to a king. 4. In a negotiation, never make the first offer. 5. Request the late check-out. 6. When entrusted with a secret, keep it. 7. Hold your heroes to a higher standard. 8. Return a borrowed car with a full tank of gas. 9. Play with passion or don’t play at all… 10. When shaking hands, grip firmly and look them in the eye. 11. Don’t let a wishbone grow where a backbone should be. 12. If you need music on the beach, you’re missing the point. 13. Carry two handkerchiefs. The one in your back pocket is for you. The one in your breast pocket is for her. 14. You marry the girl, you marry her family. 15. Be like a duck. Remain calm on the surface and paddle like crazy underneath. 16. Experience the serenity of traveling alone. 17. Never be afraid to ask out the best looking girl in the room. 18. Never turn down a breath mint. 19. A sport coat is worth 1000 words. 20. Try writing your own eulogy. Never stop revising. 21. Thank a veteran. Then make it up to him. 22. Eat lunch with the new kid. 23. After writing an angry email, read it carefully. Then delete it. 24. Ask your mom to play. She won’t let you win. 25. Manners maketh the man. 26. Give credit. Take the blame. 27. Stand up to Bullies. Protect those bullied. 28. Write down your dreams. 29. Take time to snuggle your pets, they love you so much and are always happy to see you. 30. Be confident and humble at the same time. 31. If ever in doubt, remember whose son you are and REFUSE to just be ordinary! 32. In all things lead by example not explanation. 33. Food for thought.... 1. Instead of focusing on the people who left, focus on the people in your life who have chosen to be there. Focus on the ones who stayed and the ones who appreciate and respect you. Focus on the ones who empower you and make your life beautiful. You are surrounded by human beings who know that they want you in their life. Never take them for granted. 2. People who have good hearts will always end up losing because they always give more than they receive. They always forgive and they always accept the love they get even when they know they deserve better. 3. Don't kill people with kindness because not everyone deserves your kindness. Kill people with silence because not everybody deserves your attention. 4. Every experience, both the good and the bad, will eventually get you to where you are supposed to be. Every win, every loss and every mistake. Don't be afraid to mess up and don't expect success overnight. Get lost and then find yourself over and over again. Work hard and learn to enjoy the process of your journey. Those who enjoy walking will always walk further than those who love the destination. Here's a picture of toddler Joe dressed as batman. A word on Time ⏳… Time may not be our friend but we can make time our ally. We have to honor time and convince time of the benefits from our partnership. We can award time daily with our small wins, with triumphs over and through obstacles. We can give time, timeless stories to tell from our lives. We can teach time how we heal and repair. We can bless time through or works, sacrifices, and service. We must build an alliance with time knowing still it will act like a “frenemy” At some points, time will slow down and wait, other moments time will dash away like a jaded lover with a broken heart. Time will bring harsh lessons you did not ask for and later you will learn the lessons are exactly what you need. Time may take away loved ones in unforgivable manners only to return them to you in a multitude of forms one could never imagine. When you hear “time is of the essence”, maybe you and we can use it as a cue to color, season, to express our most beautiful selves. Maybe that is it. It is us that make and give meaning to time. From this moment forward, deepen your alliance with time. All time is quality time as it was and never will be promised.

3 lessons I'd like to share as we wrap up this year: 1. Know Your Footing: I had to rely SOLELY on God in the midst of tough circumstances. Neither my acquaintances nor family could not relieve the burdens I faced in this season of life. Knowing my footing and where my help came from was crucial. 2. Immerse In Resiliency: I'M STILL STANDING!!! No matter how bad it appeared, at the end of the day I was still standing; which, means I made it! You may look like you've been through a fight. You may even possess the bumps and bruises from life's fight, but if you're still standing... YOU MADE IT!!! 3. Watch Your Mouth: Life and death really is at the power of the tongue. I don't care what it looks like. I don't care if those closest to you turn their backs on you...never curse yourself with your own mouth! Utilize words of affirmation if you must, but ALWAYS speak life! Have an AMAZING New Year! Dr. Dawn Sheree

The three key takeaways that stood out to me in today's sermon are: 1. Understanding is the key to unlocking outstanding success. This made me realize that knowledge is not enough; we must also apply it in our lives. It's not just about knowing what to do, but also understanding why and how. 2. Our mindset must shift for our circumstances to change. This hit home for me because I have been in situations where I felt stuck, but then I realized that my mindset was the barrier. When we change our perspective, we open ourselves up to new possibilities. 3. Celebrating God's faithfulness, even in challenging times, positions us for future blessings. This reminded me that gratitude is a powerful tool. When we focus on what we already have, rather than what we lack, we attract more positivity into our lives. These principles apply not just to our spiritual lives but also to our personal and professional journeys. In life, we face various challenges and situations that test our resolve, we should not only apply but embrace these takeaways. Happy Sunday❤️
