Our dedicated team of Speech-Language Pathologists at BSA Speech Therapy provides comprehensive assessment and treatment options for patients of all ages in acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehab settings. They specialize in helping patients and their families navigate life-changing medical events with expert intervention in: * Dysphagia (trouble swallowing) * Feeding challenges * Speech and language skills * Communication with Passy-Muir Speaking Valve (PMSV) for tracheostomy-dependent patients * Head and neck cancer (pre- and post-treatment) * Laryngectomy management To ensure precise, objective evaluations, they also offer Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Today, one of BSA's bravest pediatric patients, Isla "Super Isla" Melugin, completed her last spinal chemo treatment! 🌟💖💜 Isla still has one more IV chemo treatment and about six weeks of oral chemo ahead in her fight against leukemia. BSA Health System recently had the pleasure of hosting a group of STEM students from Amarillo College for an exclusive tour! 🚀🔬✨ These bright young minds had the opportunity to explore our state-of-the-art facility, engage with our healthcare professionals and learn about the fascinating intersection of science, technology, engineering and math in the medical field. They also discovered the diverse range of non-clinical careers that keep our hospital running smoothly, from IT and biomedical engineering to facilities management and more.
