What in Life Do You Regret Because You Let It Happen? Dear HVAC&R Industry Professionals, Have you ever wondered how different your life could be if you hadn't accepted certain circumstances, if you had stood up for yourself instead of letting others push you around? Now is the time to channel that inner strength and make a significant impact. This is one of those moments where standing up and fighting can make an important difference. If you have some time today, I highly recommend listening to this podcast. It highlights the significance of our actions by exploring the connection between Teflon, invented by Roy J. Plunkett—a DuPont refrigerant scientist—and the development of new F-Gas refrigerants. Astonishingly, 60% of PFAS pollution worldwide stems from these F-Gas refrigerants. You can listen to the podcast here: Podcast Link. After listening, please consider whether you are willing to switch your air-conditioning systems from R410a and R32 to natural refrigerant air-conditioners. Together, we can make a meaningful change. #HVAC #Refrigeration #Sustainability #EnvironmentalImpact #NaturalRefrigerants #PFAS #ClimateChange #GreenEnergy #HVACIndustry #CleanerAir #GlobalWarming #IndustryLeadership Best wishes, George Haydock

Excited to speak with Tom Raftery about #supplychain emissions and how companies can better collect, measure, and manage GHG data. In a world where heightened #greenwashing backlash is driving standards bodies to require more direct data capture from suppliers, we need to build these communication channels and data expectations now. #sustainablesupplychain

Exploring ways to gradually replace #EUETS allowances with #CDRCredits appears to be overdue. While allowances are not associated with any immediate environmental benefit, #CarbonRemoval credits would not only help to facilitate urgently needed private CDR investments, they would document tangible direct contributions towards #netzerocarbon...
"Now is the time for the EU to put forward a cohesive plan to address the remaining gaps and build on the progress already in made in scaling up CDR, by enabling three key conditions: 🎯 Clear targets to provide a direction of travel for the sector; 📋 Clear rules on certification; 🚛 Better CO2 transport and storage infrastructure." A clear call for action from our Associate Research Director Sylvain Delerce on the Nori Podcast! ✨ Podcast alert: The new Plastisphere episode is out! Magnus Løvold takes us on a journey through the global #PlasticsTreaty negotiations - with all you need for a good story: Hope, ambition, drama, bad faith, and magical diplomacy. Yes, we dove deep into the diplomatic gyre! And this is a bit nerdy but nonetheless important. In the first part of our conversation, we revisit the first round of negotiations in Uruguay, where great ambitions quickly got locked in a bracket. Listen to all three parts to prepare for the final treaty negotiations this year! --- For those of you who are just starting to follow the negotiations to end #plasticpollution, here's some extra background: This year, 2024, is the crucial year for the plastics treaty negotiations. The United Nations are working on an international, legally binding agreement to end plastic pollution. It’s been called the most important environmental deal since the Paris climate accord. Many countries want it to be an ambitious agreement that covers the full lifecycle of plastics, from production to disposal. But some countries are not so keen on this, and they have held up the development of the treaty. How and why exactly did they do this, and is there still hope for a strong and effective international agreement? To explore this, I connected with Magnus, an expert in Peace and Conflict Studies, and advisor with Lex International and the Norwegian Academy of International Law (NAIL). In his blog „Points of Order“, Magnus describes his observations at the diplomatic meetings he attends. In three podcast conversations ahead of the next negotiation session in Canada (INC-4), we take you back to each previous meeting of the treaty negotiations - INC-1 in Uruguay, INC-2 in France and INC-3 in Kenya. We’ll talk diplomacy and give you a better understanding of what’s going on on the international stage. https://lnkd.in/eGbEXgcB
