You want to change jobs … in fact, you might even want to change your career. I call that a pivot. Have no despair. It absolutely can be done. Pivots necessitate repositioning what you’ve done and being able to explain how you’ve grown and changed as a person to now want to work in a new area of focus. You wonder if looking for a job in December is worth the effort given that it is the holiday season. The short answer is: YES! For 3 reasons: 1. There is less competition because lots of people think that way and back off. 2. Employers may have more time and can give more attention to your outreach as things are often quieter in December. 3. Some companies have year-end budget to spend and want to get new hires confirmed before the end of the year. As a reminder: I work 1:1 with young adults (ages 18-34).
