Not aligning your activities with the career season you’re in creates avoidable problems. Career seasons ⤵️⤵️⤵️ 🎯 You may be in a season where what’s important is to unlearn, learn or establish yourself in a new area. 🎯You may be in a season where you have to prove your skills and capabilities. This is all about delivering results and earning trust quickly. 🎯You may be in a season where establishing your name externally in your field or sector is what matters. 🎯You may be in the season where you have to reinvent and position yourself for your next career move or exit from the corporate world. ✅ Each season requires a different strategy, activities and version of you. ❌ Not aligning with the season lengthens the time you spend in it and creates avoidable delay. Know your season and align your strategy, activities and the way you show up to fit it. #CoachBuki ——— Helping you make a bigger contribution at work, have more impact, get recognition, and accelerate your progression to the next level, are my passion and life work delivered through my “Elevate You Coaching Programme”. The natural ebb and flow nature of life means that seasons inevitably change. We ideally don’t want to spend longer than we need to in each season. But not positioning our mindset, strategy and activities right mean we risk overstaying in a season

Careers do go in seasons. You are right Buki. Before starting my own social media management business, I was a magazine editor and felt all of the skills I had learnt in my previous roles all came in useful.

I couldn’t agree more that careers/life can be equated to seasonal changes Buki. I take issue with the statement - you have one life, live it. I say in reply to the above statement that you live several lives similar to the chapters in the book about your life except you don’t write the last chapter. Others will do that.

So on point Buki, I see this with working moms a lot - we are so focused on the next thing that we forget to embrace the season we are in, especially when we are in a season of rest & care for our children

As an entrepreneur, it is a little different, but not so much. Since starting the business we have had to reinvent ourselves a few times. Some were minor and some spectacular with great results. I guess the lesson is, you never stop learning and you have to flow with the punches.

I 💜 the notion of asking ourselves what season we are in, Buki Ishola. Not only does this help notice what's needed now...but it also reminds us that our situation is not permanent.

I feel like I'm moving from a season of prioritising learning at every turn to being ready to get out and produce results! A helpful way to visualise this, thanks Buki!
