Aboriginal Heritage: The recently enacted amendments to the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 (WA) appear to have been used by the Minister to address new information about a site which came to the Minister's attention after a proponent secured a section 18 consent. According to the article below, the Minister became aware of the information from local Kimberley PBC, Joombarn-buru Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC and its effects on consents granted in 2019 and 2021 in respect of the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project. It appears the proponents also notified the Minister, as there is a positive obligation on those holding a consent to give notice of any new information about a site on the land the subject of a consent. The Minister appears to have partially suspended the consent in relation to the area of the site and a 25m buffer around it. The Minister can now consider the information and decide whether to amend the consent (by imposing conditions), revoke the consent, replace the consent, or confirm the consent. It will be interesting to see what process is followed to gather and assess this information (including the adequacy of the buffer) and what decision is ultimately made, as it is a test of whether the amendments, and the approach of the Minister and the Department in assessing and protecting sites, will be improved or just 'business as usual'. https://lnkd.in/gJYJG8v7

The financial expert who helps established consultants make more money and pay less tax, so they can focus on what's truly important.
Ten years ago today, I landed in Nova Scotia with my wife, 1.5 year old son, and 1 month old daughter - excited and nervous. Little did I know, my engineering career was about to hit a brick wall with the ban on onshore oil and gas exploration. That wasn't where I hit bottom though - that came after a couple of tough years trying to find my feet in the financial sector – let's just say it wasn't my finest hour. But here's the thing – As Rocky would say "it's not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward! That's how winning is done!!" And keep moving forward is what I did and continue to do. From those rocky starts, an idea began to take shape. The idea? To craft not just any financial planning firm, but one of the best in Atlantic Canada. A place where expertise meets trust, and where clients are provided plans based on their vision, values, and goals, not based on selling financial products. Fast forward to today, and I can say with a heart full of gratitude – we made it. We've built strong associations with industry leaders, and every client we work with reinforces why this journey, with all its bumps and turns, was absolutely worth it. So here's to the struggles, the setbacks, the hits, and yes, even the failures. They're not just part of the story – they ARE the story. They're what keep us grounded, what make the successes all the sweeter, and what remind us that the best victories are the ones you fight the hardest for. To anyone out there facing their own set of challenges – keep pushing. The road might be tough, but the destination? It's worth every step. And we are here to help! Let's do even better! Let's keep moving forward! The Lau Lau-1 well encountered approximately 315 feet (96 meters) of high-quality hydrocarbon-bearing sandstone reservoirs. To put this into context, the discovery in height, is equivalent to three (Georgetown) Marriott Hotels (105.88 ft) stacked on top of each other. It is also more than two times the height of the St. George’s Cathedral (143 ft), one of the world’s tallest freestanding wooden buildings.

East Star Resources Plc (LSE:EST) CEO Alex Walker speaks to Proactive after the #Kazakhstan focused #gold, #copper and #RareEarths explorer released an update on the assays from drilling at the Verkhuba Deposit on the Rudny Altai VMS belt. Walker expressed satisfaction with the ongoing program, noting the need to re-assay 62 samples that exceeded the detection limit. The preliminary indications confirm the expected copper and #zinc #mineralization and showcase a promising correlation between mineralised zones and historical data. While awaiting final results, Walker highlights notable intersections, such as 10m above 1% copper and just under 8g/t of #silver. This aligns well with historical results, raising optimism for the project's potential. With upcoming assays from areas outside Verkhuba and recent fundraising of £540,000, Walker says #EastStarResources is well-funded for current and future programs. Walker anticipates significant advancements in their projects before the need for additional capital. The CEO also touched on the timeline for the JORC resource results, saying that the company is "significantly closer than we were previously." Corporate Bond of the Day: Pacificorp The Pacific holds many secrets. Including an unknown civilization. Recently, researchers have uncovered something groundbreaking in Tonga—10,000 earthen mounds which hint at an ancient Pacific urban civilization previously unknown. Utilizing advanced aerial laser technology, researchers have unearthed evidence suggesting that these structures were part of a city developed around AD 300-700—years earlier than previously believed possible. Located just 12 kilometers from Tonga’s capital, Nuku’alofa, this site challenges traditional notions of urban development, especially in island settings where such large-scale urbanization was not thought possible. This low-density urban setup may represent a unique form of city planning that could transform our understanding of ancient civilizations across Oceania and beyond. In honor of this unknown Pacific discovery, today’s Security of the Day is a corporate bond for Pacificorp!
