When recruiting, do you ever include a ‘wild card’ amongst those you interview? By this, I mean someone who doesn’t necessarily have all the desired skills, experience, etc., but has some quality/s that pique your interest. It could be a different career path to date, a well-worded cover letter or some interesting voluntary work. It won’t always pay off, but when it does (as it did for one of our clients with whom we placed a ‘wild card’ 2 years ago), the outcome can be really positive - adding breadth and diversity to your team, and a loyal employee who genuinely appreciates the opportunity they were given. Maybe give it a try the next time you’re recruiting… #HealthcareManagement #Team #Recruitment #Diversity

Why is it always companies with a R200k base salary interviewing you off of an emailed CV or post vs companies with a R70k base salary requesting a 6000 word essay, video recorded Q&As, a blood sample, cover letter, and 10 rounds of interviews?

What’s the worst case scenario if you apply for a job you don’t have the required experience for? Wasted time, which doesn’t sound too bad! But on the flip side, be prepared to work hard and learn if you get hired for a job out of your wheelhouse. It can be like starting all over. The good news is, there are ways to optimize your resume and cover letter to bridge the gap and help you score that interview. #jobhunting #newyearnewjob #minaconsultingllc #careerdevelopment
