I’m going to stick with “60 Seconds” but there are just too many interesting policy stories out there! This week, another example of the increasingly frequent calls for corporate tax harmonization in the EU, with, so far, the usual pushback from ~33% of Member States. But the volume is increasing. Australia announces green tax incentives, but no word on the interplay with P2. And the Principal Purpose Test is now part of the India-Mauritius Tax Treaty. I had the privilege of discussing the intricacies of the Belgian Pillar 2 draft legislation which was submitted on November 13 to the Parliament in a recent interview with Tax Notes.   We covered key aspects like the proposed introduction of advance payments and additional tax due if no or insufficient prepayments are made, and a change to the R&D tax credit system so that the credits would be qualifying.
