Behold hydraulic friends, the winch of Marine Travelift 70bfm from 1989. The winch is made of a 2 speed commercial shearing 30 series motor with 2 sets of 1” gears and a cast-in 2 speed valve in the bearing carrier that seperates the gear sets. The 2 speed valve came apart and would only stay in one speed so a surplus motor(as parker no longer supports the 2 speed valve) was ordered and a matching motor was created. It didnt respond so after several times in and out i rebuilt the two speed controls with the controls from the surplus motor. This winch seems to go down slower than the other 3 it may be just slightly slower on the way up. Parameters are as follows: Each winch is powered by a 3/4” Commercial Shearing 30 series gear pump System pressure is 2300 at 6gpm at each pump section, to include the slow winch section (engine tach doesnt work) so somewhere a bit above idle Each winch has about a 2600ft-lb BtoB wet-brake and a parker LEAE Counterbalance valve. A shuttle valve opens the brake Counterbalance and shuttles have been changed between winches with no difference in the slow speed. Any suggestions as to what it could be are very much appreciated.
