With much practice… progression is inevitable

It's easy to underestimate the attention to detail needed to be a successful medical writer. Our work is under intense scrutiny every day. If you mis-spell one word out of a 6,000-word manuscript, someone will notice. If you use similar but ever-so-slightly-different words interchangeably, someone will notice. If one of your paragraphs is spaced differently to the others, someone will notice. Sometimes it seems like a never-ending quest for perfectionism! You find yourself scrutinising words in the same way in every day life. [Hands up if you're addicted to spotting typos and grammatical errors every time you watch the news! 🙋♀️] The good thing is that with practice and experience, it gets easier to spot those rogue inconsistencies in your own work.
