Law students, Legal writing is essential. Every lawyer will write. The better you write, the more you will help your client. Law school doesn't help you become a better writer. So, how do you become better at this critical part of the practice? Thankfully, Ryan McCarl has just published a new book. Get it. Now. I've just started reading it, and it is fantastic. It's fantastic because it is well written and he teaches. How good is the book? It is going into my bookshelf next to Ross Guberman's books. I believe Ross is the greatest legal writer in Anglo-American jurisprudence. If you put what Ross and Ryan are teaching together, even someone like me can write well(ish). Ryan McCarl has given you a tool. Tools allow us to do our jobs better. Law school should give you tools. It doesn't. Thankfully, folks like Ryan are stepping up and filling the gap. It's one thing to be a genius. It's another to be able to teach. Ryan is both—to our benefit. This book will make you a better legal writer. Get it. #lawstudents

Answering problem questions has been one of the challenges law students face at the initial stage and the only way to solve this problem is to learn and understand the IRAC method CHAMAN LAW FIRM made learning IRAC less complex. Jessica Chinwe, a legal associate at CHAMAN LAW FIRM explored the topic: "INTRODUCTION TO LEGAL WRITING AND THE IRAC METHOD" Apart from the fact that persuasive communication is an essential aspect of legal writing, legal analysis cannot be exempted from legal writing Therefore, knowledge of the components of IRAC must be handy at all times. These components are: I - Issues - identify the issues R- Rule - state the rules A- Application - apply the rule to the facts C - conclusion - draw a reasonable conclusion Thus, the essence of IRAC techniques are: 📌 It fosters a deep understanding of the concept. 📌 It provides clarity and provides an organized structure for legal writing. 📌 It encourages precision and thoroughness. Noteworthy is the fact that this technique of legal writing is utilized beyond the examination room. It is also used in court by lawyers and judges. The relationship between a law student and professional writing When you first get into law school, the way books are written will be completely overwhelming. In the first semester of law, I realized that I need professional writing to be successful in this field. I gradually started reading legal books and then in the later stages I tried to practice this writing. Now that I am in the senior stage of this field, I own a publication in the university and I teach new students how to write well. My biggest advice to junior law students, who always ask me how to become a model student in university, is precisely this discussion: first learn law and then know how to express and write it. 😊
