We are pleased to announce that David Moore has accepted the appointment to serve as dean of BYU Law, effective July 1, 2023. As we welcome Dean Moore to his new role, we also recognize and applaud the superb leadership of Dean Gordon Smith, who has led the Law School with distinction since 2016.
Dean Moore once saw me driving with my family while he was crossing the street. He quickly came to my window to say hello and ask how I was doing with my job search. We chatted for a moment, then he jumped back to the sidewalk, away from the cars driving up behind him. Little moments like that are representative of who Dean Moore is: ready to drop anything just to see if there's an opportunity to help one of his students. He'll be an excellent leader of the Law School.
No one is better at whiteboard wizardry and increasing the spiritual wellness of a classroom. So glad about this announcement!
