Fagerhult’s net-zero plan gets thumbs up The Fagerhult Group has announced that its net zero plan has got the thumbs up from independent scientists. The brand’s strategy has been validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The group’s long-term target to become ‘science-based net-zero’ is set to no later than 2045. ‘We’re very proud to have our targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative,’ Bodil Sonesson, chief executive officer of the Fagerhult Group, told the press.  ‘This validation reaffirms our unwavering commitment to addressing climate change and ensures that our actions are grounded in science as well as consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement.  ‘We will follow up and report on our progress continuously in a transparent way.’  • Read more: Link in the comments • The Circular Lighting Report is powered by Recolight

Last week, we held the GEIR Annual General Meeting in Brussels, reiterated our vision for ''a sustainable world where all waste oils are re-refined,'' and unveiled a new logo and website. 🚀 Members highlighted the re-refining industry's critical role in achieving environmental sustainability goals, particularly with the European Commission's 2040 #EmissionsReduction targets in view. President Marco Codognola stressed GEIR's dedication to these goals, aiming to boost European competitiveness, circularity, and resource efficiency. 💡 GEIR remains committed to advocating for legislative targets to increase #Collection and #Regeneration of waste oils.
