Laser Focus is a Superpower. 💪 Here are my top 5 tips. Priorize consistency. As MJ has shown below. His consistency for excellence was unparalleled. As Woody Allen said. “80% of success is showing up”. Avoid distractions. When you're working, put your phone away. No alerts and no notifications (yes that includes checking your LinkedIn). Time Management. Your time is precious. Set a timer for each tasks. Stick to it. Learn to Say No. You need to establish boundaries to yourself and people around you. You don't need to explain your decision. No means No! Be Healthy. If you're not healthy, none of the above matters.
Jay Z on Michael Jordan: “I absolutely love Michael Jordan. His career was a perfectly composed story about will. I went to his restaurant at his invitation to have dinner with him. It was an absolute dream conversation for me. The thing that distinguished Jordan wasn't just his talent, but his discipline, his laser-like commitment to excellence. That's something I always respect. The gift that Jordan had wasn't just that he was willing to do the work, but he loved doing it. He came into the game as Rookie of the Year and he finished off the last playoff game of his career with a shot that won the Bulls their sixth championship. That’s the kind of consistency that you can get only by adding dead serious discipline to whatever talent you have.”

The last 8.5 years at D5 and Song were invaluable. From Super Bowl to experiential, creative to measurement and media planning, I learned so much from all the amazing humans that have made D5/Song a powerhouse. UFA is an end-to-end creative marketing firm focused on helping growth stage brands graduate from niche to mass market competitor. Many companies at this stage are rapidly expanding through new product and service offerings or expanded distribution channels or geographic footprint. As the ambition of the business grows, the game changes and it becomes clear a new marketing playbook is necessary to succeed. My ambition is to be the best partner in the world for brands as they navigate these major mindset, strategy and executional adjustments. Chubbies Shorts is a great example and I couldn't be happier to be partnering with Rainer Castillo marie malette and team. They’re poised for incredible growth and already taking the steps to elevate how they compete in the broader lifestyle apparel market. They’re a bold brand with strong values, world class product and talent. We’re only just getting started but I’m thrilled to see our partnership develop. It’s a season of change in the marketing world. I hope to influence how the creative industry evolves to create better outcomes for the talent behind the work and also the brands who commission it. If you’re a founder or a marketer and think this sounds like where your brand is today, let’s connect. If you’re freelancing, looking for a new gig, or an old friend and want to say, Hi, hit me up. More to come.

Few days ago, I had the privilege of stepping onto the hallowed grounds of Carlton Football Club. Walking those same paths as legends and future stars, a single word echoed in my mind: purpose. It wasn't just the crisp air or the electric energy of the training ground. It was the laser focus in every player's eyes, the unwavering commitment in every stride, the "playing for something bigger" etched onto their faces. But beyond the immediate glory, beyond the siren's song of victory, lay something even deeper: the pursuit of growth. This wasn't just about winning today, it was about becoming a premiership team tomorrow. It was about building a dynasty, one brick at a time, one sweat-soaked session at a time. From the young guns honing their skills to the seasoned veterans leading the charge, there was a palpable sense of unity and purpose. It wasn't just about individual brilliance, it was about working together, pushing each other, rising as one. This visit to Carlton wasn't just about football, it was about a journey of self-discovery. It was a reminder that purpose fuels passion, and passion fuels greatness. It was a call to action, not just for the players on the field, but for all of us who bleed blue. So, let's embrace this purpose, let's support this journey, and let's roar together. A decade ago, Joe Mazzulla was an assistant at Division-II Fairmont State. Not long after that, he was an assistant with the G League's Maine Red Claws, hoping for a chance to become a head coach. Now, at 35 years old, he’s led the Boston Celtics to a championship. #TheComeUp

Product Designer committed to breaking down the silos between design, engineering, and product | Equal parts Ted Lasso and Mike Rowe
He’s a Cubs fan… In the world of rivalries, the crosstown teams of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs have a legacy of producing some passionate fans. Even when the Cubs went to the World Series, a devout White Sox fan could not muster up the strength to cheer the Cubs on to victory — even though they’re both Windy City citizens. So imagine the divine humor that took place when I met Brad Imburgia in 2017 and became fast friends. Very few people know me as well as this guy. We’ve worked together, we’ve made a few late-night Taco Bell runs, we’ve shared more than a few laughs, and our families get along as well as we do. Not only is he an incredible friend who offered to meet me on his day off, but he helped me to unravel the mess of my message (think backlashed fishing reel kind of mess). He helped me see my curiosities and seemingly disparate interests as assets and not liabilities. I left our two-hour conversation feeling like I knew who I was and the trajectory I was on. The man’s a genius when it comes to cutting through words, thoughts, and left-field ideas to bring a simple statement of clarity. If you need help with bringing a focused direction to your business and how it’s portrayed to the market in an authentic way — Brad’s your guy. Seriously. He gets people. He cares about people’s stories. He’s got an uncanny ability to help make great things from listening to what you have to say. And he’s a close friend of mine…even if he is a Cubs fan. #CubsFan #EmberBrandCo #Branding #BrandIdentity #BrandLeadership
