It is a very circular issue of escalation where a waiver is granted to create more Co2 deficit in order to keep the power on because of the excessive heat caused by climate change and CO2. It is an example of the obvious fact that we cannot go back even if we wanted to without a pain level that no one wants.... Food for thought. "The US Energy Department has issued an emergency order aimed at keeping the lights on in Texas as the state’s power grid grapples with surging demand amid record-high temperatures. Energy demand soared during the recent 2024 freeze and Texas set 3 unofficial winter demand records (demand during Winter Storm Uri was likely much higher had we not experienced power outages). We are woefully underinvesting in energy efficiency and demand response programs to help reduce demand. Woody Rickerson, ERCOT senior vice president, said surplus energy from solar generation throughout the storm helped charge batteries and gave operators a chance to correct issues at thermal plants. https://lnkd.in/eSdTsa9f
