Our paper on the "Discovery of a possible role of asprosin in ovarian function" is still one of 2023's top-cited articles. We were also one of the top-cited in 2022. Today, it has reached 28 citations. I am very proud of our groundbreaking research during my graduate studies. Hoping that we can do more quality research like this. #womeninscience #youngresearchers #scienceinnovation

#READALLABOUTIT This paper written with a PhD student, Chante Johannes and other supervisors. This paper interrogated the #relationship #between #psychosocial #factors and #physical #activity #participation among #undergraduate #university students at a #HDI in #South #Africa. The most stand-out finding for me was how #physical #activity was #significantly #associated with #mental #health, such as #depression, #anxiety and #stress. I got a sense that these are messages we have been broadcasting, and not really taking stock of where they have been landing. This research therefore advocates that future research on mental health should consider #physical #activity #interventions as a #strategy for #coping with #mental #health #challenges amongst #undergraduate #students. #undergraduate #mentalhealth #physicalactivity

Helping to build thriving cultures of learning & development around modern leadership and change, empowerment through technology, mental fitness, well-being & excellence!
For many of us, these are rare spontaneous occurrences that happen unexpectedly and punctuate an otherwise quite ‘normal’ existence. Nevertheless, they can have a profound impact on us, expressing something fundamental about what it is to be a living, conscious being. By publicly reflecting on spontaneous parapsychological experiences, researchers can perform an important social function in showing that they constitute a natural part of the normal range of healthy human experience. They can empower experiencers to reflect on and make sense of their own experiences, despite a cultural backdrop that regards them as foolish or even pathological. We can consider individuals who identify as ‘psychic’ or ‘mediumistic’ to see how they are able to come to terms with their experiences in psychologically healthy and socially functional ways… In exploring these themes Chris Roe draws on compelling research conducted at the University of Northampton, some of which is still ongoing. Interesting for those searching for meaning, studying the humanistic side of culture and psychology or who are just curious 🧐👀
