Last week, as I attended the American Association of Blacks in Energy and Edison Electric Institute's Executive Leadership Summit, I had the opportunity to sit down with Congressman Steven Horsford of Nevada for a compelling fireside chat. Congressman Horsford has a full plate, representing one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States, while also chairing the Congressional Black Caucus. Despite these responsibilities, he makes time to keep in touch with his constituents, and it was great to hear about his vision for economic development and how he is supporting growth opportunities for businesses in his district. We also had the opportunity to discuss how energy companies such as Exelon can continue to support local businesses, through initiatives such as our Community Impact Capital Fund, which has invested nearly $10 million as of March 2024. We closed out our conversation by discussing the Congressional Black Caucus’s request for Fortune 500 companies to reaffirm their diversity, equity and inclusion commitments, and how companies can continue to support and reflect the communities we serve.
I would have loved to hear this conversation. There is so much public policy work we have now and ahead that require intentionality. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. If you have time to grab a coffee sometime soon, I’d enjoy doing so with you.

3wI am proud to see Exelon leading the way in supporting local businesses, affordability, and diversity initiatives, with each member of the Exelon family playing an important role in this strategic vision and ensuring customer satisfaction. It's also inspiring to witness Congressman Horsford's unwavering commitment to economic growth and community development.*
