The importance of recognition, whether from your peers or society is invaluable. What I like the most from recognitions like the Stairway to Impact Award is that it is given for a "team's" effort. Next, NWO (Dutch Research Council) is giving a clear message in supporting "scientists who take effective steps to utilise their scientific findings to tackle a societal problem and/or to make an economic contribution." Excited to share my latest publication, "Comparative analysis of self-cure and dual cure-dental composites on their physico-mechanical behaviour," derived from my PhD research, now featured in the Australian Dental Journal. This study delves into the physico-mechanical properties of six recently introduced commercial dental resin composites. By examining filler content, resin type, and mechanical properties, practitioners and researchers can gain valuable insights into the performance of restorative materials. This understanding aids clinicians in making informed choices based on cavity specifics. The research also explores adhesion, crack propagation, and water sorption, offering practical guidance for enhancing material durability in clinical applications.
