CEO & Registrar | Board Director | Regulatory Excellence | Corporate Strategy | WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women
As we celebrate International Women in Engineering Day today, I reflect on my journey as a woman engineer, and the barriers and challenges I faced along the way. We all have a role to play in breaking down barriers. Here are a few things you can do to help create a more inclusive engineering profession: · Be a mentor: Encourage young women interested in STEM by showing them that they can succeed. Your support means more than you think. · Be kind: Let’s lead with empathy. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it also fosters a positive environment that enhances team performance. · Create networks: Help create networks where women can be supported, guided and mentored. These connections are invaluable for personal and professional growth. · Invest in yourself: Develop a plan for your goals and aspirations. I am a believer of life-long learning, so continuous self-development is crucial in advancing your career and achieving your dreams. Things are changing, but not enough nor fast enough. We can do better, and we must do better. Let’s make a difference together! #INWED2024 #EnhancedByEngineering

Founder and CEO @ Women in CX — The Movement for Human-Centred Business | Keynote Speaker 🔥Unleashing the Power of Women in Customer Experience and Tech🔥
As I reflect on the success of Women in CX ™ Conference 2023 the thing I am most proud of is our team. When Harley Stabler and Meg Coates joined me as startup interns in 2021, I had no idea where we would be 2.5 years later. We went through plenty of ‘storming’ and ‘norming’ to get to where we are now — the slickest high-performance team I’ve ever had the pleasure to be part of. A team capable of anything we set our minds to! A team who delivers unfathomable quality. A team whose collective output moves mountains 💪 —————— I think our success is down to: ✨ How different we are from one another - each one of us possesses different strengths, skills and ways of thinking ✨ The collaborative operating model we have developed — where we work cross functionally to deliver shared objectives ✨ Our willingness to ‘try’ — meaning we solve problems together by learning as we go! And most importantly, the hard won trust that we have developed in one another. —————— As we move into the final quarter of 2023 we are shifting our focus to building the next iteration of WICX. With new membership propositions, the launch of courses, a global mentoring programme and much more on the horizon, I have absolute confidence in our team that we can and will achieve our purpose: ‘To unleash the power of women to lead the movement for human-centred busines’ 🙌 What do you think makes a winning team? #MegAndHarleyRock #WomeninCX #TeamWork #PeopleAndCulture 📸 After WICX Conference 2023

B.A History and International Studies || ISC2 Candidate || Cybersecurity || CEO || Entrepreneur, Baker
DAY 23: Diversity and Inclusion In Tech. In tech, diversity and inclusion aren't just trendy words; they're crucial for moving forward. As a graduate of History and International studies, I've learnt that diverse perspectives drives innovations. I believe diversity goes beyond just having different people around—it's about tapping into their varied experiences and skills. Each person brings a unique perspective that helps us solve problems better, be more creative, and create solutions that work for everyone. Without diverse voices, we risk missing out on important insights and sticking to old biases. Recognizing diverse perspectives isn't just the right thing to do; it's smart for business. In today's fast-changing digital world, diverse teams can understand customers better and come up with products that suit more people. When everyone feels welcome and valued, we attract the best talent and build a culture where new ideas thrive. Inclusion isn't just about meeting quotas; it's about making sure everyone has a say, especially those who haven't been heard enough. Connecting with others is key to making tech more inclusive. Whether it's through mentorship, networking, or special groups, creating spaces where people can share and learn from each other is vital. By making everyone feel like they belong and encouraging honest conversations, we break down barriers and make tech a fairer place for everyone. By embracing diversity and inclusion, we make tech better and build a world where everyone has a chance to succeed.

Jacqueline de Rojas CBE is speaking at the #levelUp2023 summit She has achieved great achievements in service of the industry. She wants us to create a future that works for everybody, that's why we need more diversity in technology, where our future is created. 💡 If technology is not diverse, it's not ethical She is sharing her journey, the early challenges and how she felt safe at school One insight was💡 Role models, even if they are 'bad' role models, can teach you something 💡 There are many reasons why we fall into roles - i.e. the language we speak 💡 Some opportunities require us to work hard but they allow us to feel significant 💡 When she crossed from manager to leader, she realised she was running out of answers - listening to her team, creating space for other people to be amazing were key for success 🙏 She's thankful to those who took her career forward (she explained how that made a difference with opportunities, navigating politics etc) and she lives today giving back, living in gratitude 🆘 It's ok to ask for what we need - given that we're all different and come from different places/backgrounds. #adjustments make a difference between making it and not making it The journey of a women in tech is not linear (or the same to each of us) Let's pay it forward and support somebody else in their journey ⚡ the most dangerous thought about diversity is that you think 'it's not your problem'
