This past week I had the privilege to attend the 2023 Next Up Summit! NextUp is a non-profit organization that is centered around advancing women in business. After hearing from an inspiring and diverse panel of women leaders, and leaders who support women, here are my top three takeaways: 1. Instead of thinking of 10 reasons why you can’t do something, instead remind yourself of 10 reasons why you can. Sometimes in life we can become our own barrier, when we should be our own biggest advocate. Say yes, and “figure the rest out later”. 2. Surround yourself with mentors/colleagues who will advocate for you when you aren’t at the table, and be someone who advocates for those who aren’t at the table with you. Build intentional connections and collaborate with mentors, but remember to pay it forward and bring other women along with you. 3. Equality in the workplace starts with equality at home. I am so grateful to have had this experience and am looking forward to what is “Next Up”!
