Massachusetts colleagues! Please consider signing this letter, written by the Massachusetts Pollinator Network, in support of a Municipal Reforestation Bill. If this bill is adopted it will encourage the expansion of the urban tree canopy across Massachusetts will enable us to:   - Plant trees and provide jobs for youth in all MA cities and towns, prioritizing Environmental Justice communities - improve public health and climate adaptation and mitigation - increase urban biodiversity and habitat.  The letter also includes a proposal to grow native trees from seed in Massachusetts to make more of them available for municipal planting. NatureScot and Peatland ACTION have introduced a new approach to processing peatland restoration applications to tackle the increasing demand. What does this mean for future peatland projects?! Healthy working and natural lands, like forests, improve water quality and quantity by filtering, slowing, and storing water as it moves through watersheds. Investing in this natural infrastructure is critical to ensuring the resilience of America’s water infrastructure.   Today with the US Water Alliance we #ImagineADayWithoutWater and partner to build stronger links—from forest to faucet—through the Northeast Mid-Atlantic Forests and Water Partnership. Funded by a U.S. Forest Service Landscape Scale Restoration program grant, this partnership brings together a coalition of agencies and organizations for enhancing forest and water priorities across a 13-state footprint, from Maine to West Virginia and Ohio.
