Your schedule is a reflect of you as a leader more than it is of the job, the company or your team. Some people barely have time to go to the bathroom because they go to back-to-back 30-minute meetings from sunrise to sunset. If we could watch those meetings objectively, we'd find two major things: 1. Most of those meetings are wasted. By the time everyone adjusts to the topic and can wrap their heads around the goal, the time is up, and you schedule another meeting 2. Your presence isn't required. Either you don't empower your team to make the decisions without you, or you're there because someone asked you to be, and you go along. Find two hours in your day tomorrow. Look at your calendar, and carve out TWO hours consecutively. You'll be glad you did.

Mondays are always a day of meetings for me! I call it Meeting Monday. Most people tell me I am mad for having so many meetings on a Monday (when I am in the thick of it, I tend to agree), but every week without fail I ensure I have caught up with the various departments. As meeting 8/8 concluded this afternoon, I realised how beneficial structured meetings can be, an insight into some of today's meetings all with the intention of pushing improvements across the business... 👥 Company meeting - ensuring all teams, departments and colleagues are up to date on the latest TB news for the week ahead. 👨💻 Product team meeting x 2 - looking at current progress of our product team with reviewing our product offering internally and ensuring we have the correct data to ensure swift quoting and deal closing for our sales team. 😁 Customer Care weekly catch up - delving into our defects, how and why they reached our customer and what can I do to implement a prevention strategy. 👨💻 Weekly business review - looking at our performance across the business to ensure we are inline with targets and to deal with any problems/feedback at SMT level. Every day we strive to be better than yesterday and today certainly feels like we are making progress, slowly... but surely! #brandedmerchandise #sales #promotionalmerchandise #management #leadership

In the boardroom, tough meetings aren't obstacles, they're opportunities. They challenge our perspectives, refine our strategies, and ultimately strengthen our resolve. Embrace the heat of debate, for it forges the sharpest of decisions. #BoardroomResilience #NavigatingChallenges

The curse of a back-to-back meeting culture..... Do you start first thing and work through to the evening with no breaks? No coffee! No lunch! No loo breaks! And worse..... NO TIME TO THINK AND NO TIME TO GET STUFF DONE! 😮 It's a vicious cycle that only you can change..... It's time to start making some difficult decisions! ➡ Should you be in the meeting? If you are not getting value or you are not delivering value then YOU SHOULD NOT BE THERE! ➡ Is the meeting productive? If there is no objective and no outcomes then the meeting IS NOT PRODUCTIVE! Do you think you need to be there to be visible? Please see above. You will be valued more for delivering outcomes and revenue than for the number of meetings you attend! Be ruthless in where and how you spend your time. Your focus should be on the outcomes you are responsible for delivering!! 😎 #thymebc #womeninsales #sales #salesenablement

Your Time Is Your Life. Manage It Well. Here are some Time-Management Tips from my friend Thomas Ottmayer. He's the former VP of General Purchasing at Porsche AG, and now a senior advisor at Torqk Consulting and founder of Ottmayer Consulting. Managing Time -Thomas’ Tips 1. Define top priorities for the day the evening before. 2. Focus 70% of your planning on top priorities. 3. Define what not to do. And don't do it. 4. Don’t participate unless it’s essential for you and your priorities. 5. Cancel all meetings and appointments that aren’t essential. 6. Create and book 30-minute meetings. Shoot for 10. 7. Be able to explain what your message is in 2 minutes or less. 8. Never start your day with e-mail. 9. Get in early, go home on time. What Time Management tips would you recommend? leadership solutions that leverage powerful frameworks, practical skill-building, and opportunities for personal growth.
I sat with a leader recently and asked: how many of your meetings (1:1 or team) have a clearly stated objective or desired result? Their answer was less than 30%. Not surprising, but certainly not promising for the effectiveness of their meetings. What you are meeting about is NOT an objective. “Have our Monthly 1:1” is NOT a sufficient result. It doesn’t have to be fancy or lofty, it just needs to be CLEAR: -We need to decide who is taking over the Jones account and plan next steps. -I want to discuss trying a new work schedule next month. -I need to hear all of your opinions on this so I can make a decision. Begin with the end in mind and check midway through the meeting on how you’re doing. Do this and you'll start seeing better results!
