104 years ago today, the 19th Amendment was officially adopted, granting women the right to vote. While this day marks a pivotal point for women’s rights, we are also reminded of the work we must continue to uphold. We must advocate for equal access to vote so that ALL people can exercise their rights fairly, while also dismantling the voter suppression that still affects our nation today. Celebrate #WomensEqualityDay by registering to vote if you haven’t already! Find your state’s election dates and deadlines here: https://hubs.la/Q02MzvfS0

🗳️ 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀! 🗳️ As Election Day nears on July 4th, 2024, N5 Security wants to encourage UK citizens that every vote is important. Voting is crucial for democracy and has been achieved through years of hard work and determination. It is a privilege and duty that we all must take seriously. Many people in history sacrificed to secure the right to vote. Suffragettes fought for women's voting rights, and civil rights activists battled racial discrimination. Their efforts led to the inclusive democracy we have today. At N5 Security, we think everyone can help decide the future of our country by voting. Your vote adds to the overall voice that guides our communities and nation. Voting is a way to show responsibility and power, showing dedication to the common good. When you go to vote 4th of July, remember how important your vote is. Be informed, talk to others, and urge them to join in this important democratic process. Your vote is more than a right; it shows the strength of democracy and the people's power. Don't miss this important chance. Let's work together to make sure everyone has a strong and lively democracy. #ElectionDay #Vote2024 #YourVoteCounts #DemocracyInAction #N5Security #UKElections2024

It's #TakeActionForLibrariesDay! Today, advocates unite to assert their commitment to the 2024 elections. Libraries, though nonpartisan, are far from indifferent. They serve as vital pillars of our democracy, fostering literacy, empowering voters, and equipping us all for civic engagement. The American Library Association's latest initiative, the Reader. Voter. Ready. campaign, urges library advocates to pledge to get informed, get registered, and get ready to vote! https://ow.ly/tmIp50ReaVP

For just 96 years all adults- males and females over 18 and registered to vote- have had the right to do so. Previous rules set down by parliament included prohibiting women from voting, setting unequal age caps, having property ownership as a voting prerequisite, etc. All of these restrictions were to give impressions of fair and free elections, of a democratic nation, but this was flagrantly and demonstrably untrue. It was also to quell civil unrest, though that ultimately prompted political change. Peterloo and Women's Suffrage notably highlighted social inequality and the establishment's disregard of human rights. And the UK establishment- that vague, amorphous and pitiless cabal of politicians, landed gentry, royalty, the wealthy, and state administrators- tried to stymie true democracy or at least delay its progress for 200 hundred years. So having won the right to vote, get your ID and vote, it's all we can do to try and create a fairer society by electing people with moral and ethical decency to hold the reins of power. Oh but don't vote Tory or the ironically named Reform Party- they're both groups of C💩NTS. #election #voting #suffrage #theestablishment #power #humanrights #civilrights #peterloo #suffragettes #may2nd

"Helping You See Who God Designed You to Be!"™ 🌕 to boldly do what He has called you to do! Let’s grow!🌱🌳
🌱🌳The ‘Choose to LOVE 2024’ initiative promotes voting rights 🗳️ on the basis of Kingdom and civil rights💕🩵 Building upon the platform of Authentic Existence®️🌕 'Choose to LOVE 2024': Why Did We Need the Voting Rights Act of 1965? This act was signed into law on August 6, 1965, by President Lyndon Johnson. It outlawed the discriminatory voting practices adopted in many southern states after the Civil War, including literacy tests as a prerequisite to voting. "This “act to enforce the fifteenth amendment to the Constitution” was signed into law 95 years after the amendment was ratified. In those years, African Americans in the South faced tremendous obstacles to voting, including poll taxes, literacy tests, and other bureaucratic restrictions to deny them the right to vote. They also risked harassment, intimidation, economic reprisals, and physical violence when they tried to register or vote. As a result, African-American voter registration was limited, along with political power.” (Source: https://lnkd.in/gEnsX_EZ) People have lost their lives to provide this right to those who were disenfranchised. Then why are many not voting today? Apathy is a leading response. ”So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.“ Hebrews 12:12-13 NLT Exercise your right! Today, we've officially released our Democracy Defended report, which provides lessons learned from monitoring the 2022 election and a blueprint for the upcoming 2024 election, with a particular focus on the South. In 2022, LDF conducted civic engagement, election monitoring, and advocacy efforts in seven southern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas. This report incorporates just some of the data points and observations conveyed during elections in LDF’s target states in 2022. It also reflects lessons informed by these findings and key takeaways from prior Democracy Defended reports that can position civil rights advocates to engage strategically to support voters in 2024 and beyond. https://lnkd.in/eybyJMBi
