Carers Support West Sussex already offers its employees 7 days paid (pro rata) carers leave. As we fully support the notion as well as being a very carer friendly employer. We hope you will join us in supporting the Carers UK campaign to enable others access to paid carer's leave on a non-statutory basis.
Our new report calling for the introduction of a new right to paid Carer’s Leave shines a light on some of the forward thinking and carer-friendly employers in the UK who already provide their employees with access to paid Carer’s Leave on a non-statutory basis. These employers say doing so brings significant economic and cultural benefits to their organisations, as well as to their employees. Evidence shows that the impact of increased staff turnover, unplanned absences, and additional stress that comes when employees aren’t supported to juggle work and care could be costing UK businesses over £3.5 billion every year. We are calling for other organisations to stand with us in calling for a new right to paid Carer’s Leave.
