Today marks the day, 30 years ago, that Ayrton Senna was tragically killed. Three decades after his death at Imola, the great Brazilian driver remains a revered but controversial figure in motorsport. From this list, here’s my fave race featuring him … 4. The Ayrton Senna legend is born: Monaco Grand Prix 1984 … “It will be really a tragic result for Senna. However, while he’s not about to be world champion this year, he will undoubtedly be world champion in the future if his career continues.” Thus spoke BBC commentator and 1976 world champion James Hunt, having witnessed one of the great wet weather performances of all time. Senna, behind the wheel of a decidedly mid-to-back-of-the-field Toleman, had made his way to second place by Lap 19 of the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix, as drivers of the calibre of Niki Lauda and Nigel Mansell were spinning off all around him. UNDERDOG TALES: When Senna took the F1 paddock by storm with Toleman and made Monaco’s streets his own Between Lap 27 and Lap 31 – the last lap before race official Jacky Ickx (ironically a notorious regenmeister himself) controversially threw the red flag to stop proceedings – Senna had gained on race leader Alain Prost by an average of 3.7 seconds a lap, passing him for the lead across what became the finish line on Lap 32 but falling back to second in the final countback. Was he robbed? It’s a question that can still excite F1 fans down the pub today. Whatever your opinion, though, there was no doubt that Senna’s drive that day had been one of the most special in F1 history. I was watching last night’s Hungary F1 grand prix and was happy to see Lewis Hamilton’s achievement of securing his 200th podium after his exceptional win in the British GP race a fortnight ago. This is nothing short of inspirational. As one of the elder statesmen on the grid, Hamilton continues to defy the odds and push the boundaries of what is possible in Formula 1. His enduring success and unwavering determination serve as a beacon of inspiration for both seasoned professionals and aspiring young drivers alike. As a comparison, Oscar Piastri who actually won the race was only 11 years old when Hamilton first debut on this racetrack. Reaching this remarkable number of podiums at his stage in the career underscores not just his incredible talent but also his commitment to the sport. Hamilton’s longevity and continued success serve as a powerful reminder that age is just a number when it comes to passion and performance. This got me thinking about today’s message. Monday Motivation: The Pursuit of Excellence Your desire to pursue excellence is only limited by your willingness and ability to push it. Damon Hill (a former F1 world champion) once famously said, "Life is like a tube of toothpaste. As you get towards the end, it becomes harder to push out even though you know there's still some left." This analogy is a powerful reminder for all of us, especially on a Monday morning. Just like squeezing out the last bit of toothpaste, achieving excellence often requires that extra push, that extra effort when things seem toughest. When challenges arise, as you get older, it's easy to feel like giving up, but that's precisely when our true potential is tested. The perseverance to push through those difficult moments defines our path to excellence. Beyond the numbers, Hamilton's influence extends far beyond the racetrack. His advocacy for diversity, equality, and environmental sustainability has left an indelible mark on the sport and society as a whole. He has shown that true champions are not just defined by their victories but by their character and the positive change they inspire. So, as we embark on this week, let’s channel our inner drive and push a little harder, knowing that the rewards of our efforts lie just within reach. Wishing you all a week filled with perseverance and excellence!

First post about a topic that I particularly care about. Please stay tuned for more infos and it would also be nice to start a conversation about #equaloportunities. Share your thoughts, please, let’s spread some awareness about our beloved sport!
📷 Every day we see pictures of women and men that enjoy being together, just people sharing happiness. At first sight, what we see in this post is not so different, this image represents a man and a woman during a happy day of their lives. Nobody sees anything extraordinary even if we say that these are Maria Teresa De Filippis and Romolo Tavoni. 🔙 Taking a brief step back in motorsport history, a woman worth mentioning is Neapolitan Maria Teresa De Filippis; a name that may not stir any memories but she is the first woman driver to compete in F1. In the photo below she is embraced by Romolo Tavoni, Ferrari's race director. It was taken in 1958, just after the end of the Portuguese Grand Prix where the two look very happy and it was an ordinary moment. They were just a driver and a race director after an exciting Grand Prix. Maria Teresa De Filippis was a pioneer who paved the way for subsequent generations of women who aspired to compete at elite levels. Her courage and passion helped change the landscape of F1, opening the door to greater diversity in the paddock.☺️ #EqualOpportunities #F1 #Ferrari

🏎️ Exciting Weekend Ahead 🏁 This upcoming weekend marks the third round of the Porsche Schweiz AG Sports Cup Suisse, where our friend and driver Felix Hirsiger embarks on the next challenge to repeat what has been achieved in the last two weekends. After an amazing performance in Le Castallet during the second round of the championship, Felix currently leads with a 38-point advantage over the second place. But there's no time to rest. Imola, a new track Felix has not yet driven on, is up next for a thrilling round. Our partnership with a racing driver enables us to view the day-to-day challenges in business from a sporting angle. Just like in racing, business requires meticulous preparation, quick decision-making, and the ability to navigate unforeseen obstacles. Both arenas demand resilience, strategic planning, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Felix’s dedication to mastering new tracks mirrors how we approach new market challenges – with agility, determination, and an unwavering focus on our goals. As Felix gears up for Imola, we are reminded that in both business and racing, it’s not just about reaching the destination but also about the journey, the learning, and the continuous improvement along the way. Here's to pushing boundaries and achieving new milestones, both on the track and in the business world. Best of luck, Felix! 🏆 https://lnkd.in/e8G8q6Yg #PorscheSportsCup #Racing #TeamWork #Performance

🏁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘅 🏁 Few races have etched themselves into the folklore of Formula 1 quite like the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix. Against the glittering backdrop of Monte Carlo, a tale of sheer unpredictability, unwavering determination, and sheer racing prowess unfolded, catapulting Olivier Panis into the spotlight with a victory that defies belief to this day. 𝗔 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 Monaco, with its narrow streets, tight corners, and unforgiving barriers, presents a formidable challenge to even the most skilled of drivers. Yet, in 1996, it outdid itself. Amidst treacherous rain-soaked conditions, chaos reigned supreme from the onset. One by one, seasoned veterans and daring newcomers alike succumbed to the perils of the track, leaving a trail of retirements in their wake. 𝗔𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗵 Enter Olivier Panis, starting in 14th place, in a race where the odds seemed insurmountably stacked against him. Through a combination of strategic brilliance, flawless driving, and perhaps a stroke of luck, Panis steered his way through the mayhem, avoiding the fate that befell 20 of his competitors. His victory stands as a testament not only to his skill and determination but also to the unpredictable spirit of Monaco that turns underdogs into champions. 𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 The race concluded with a staggering statistic: only three cars crossed the finish line, making it one of the most extraordinary finishes in Formula 1 history. Panis's triumph in the Ligier underscored a fundamental truth about motorsport: on any given Sunday, anything can happen, especially in Monaco. 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗼'𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺 This race, with its dramatic twists and turns, serves as a vivid reminder of the allure and challenge that Monaco poses. It's a circuit that demands respect, punishes arrogance, and, on occasion, rewards the brave and the lucky. #Formula1 #MonacoGrandPrix #OlivierPanis #MotorsportHistory #Racing

BUENAS TARDES MEXICOOOO!!! 🇲🇽 😍 🔥 Second part of the F1 back-to-back triple header is underway! The Mexico City Grand Prix takes place this weekend at the spectacular Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, and there’s no doubt that Kevin Magnussen is looking forward to seeing if he can find more speed in the newly upgraded VF-23 race car. This weekend will be even more interesting as the Mexican circuit is one of the most technical due to its location. “The circuit is located more than 2,000 meters above sea level, and because of the high altitude and low ambient pressure, it’s a unique challenge with the set-up of the car. It will be interesting to see how we perform with the new upgrade. Besides that, the Mexico City Grand Prix is always a unique race due to its fantastic atmosphere. The Mexican fans are really passionate, and the circuit is also quite cool, for example the Foro Sol stadium section is very special,” says Kevin Magnussen. FUN FACTS: Hosting the first Grand Prix in 1963 and welcomed back to the Formula 1 calendar in 2015, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City is comfortably the highest venue visited. At 2,200 meters above sea level, it’s a full 1,500 meters higher than second-highest circuit, the Brazilian Interlagos. That altitude has an impact on a car’s operations as the thinner air means the car generate less downforce. Straight-line speed, however, is usually the highest all season, despite running bigger rear wings than several venues, because of the lower drag levels. The weekend’s first two practice sessions will be completed Friday – Kevin will only do the second session as his car is reserved for the rookie test. Another practice session and the qualifying will follow on Saturday. Sunday’s 71-lap-long Mexico City Grand Prix begins at 14:00 local time (GMT -6). Wanna follow live?
