The Twin Rivers development had 218 units of affordable housing. How many units of affordable housing will be available in Mirasol Village? How do the rents compare for the affordable housing units? It seems with the growth in homelessness the criteria for success at Mirasol should be a growth in affordable units that at least equals the growth in homelessness in the community--based on the homeless count that growth is over 40%.

All levels of government recently came together to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our new City of Moreton Bay.   The Moreton Bay Leaders’ Forum, which brings together representatives from federal, state and local government, convened to share views on Waraba (Caboolture West), new public transport routes, roads funding, Moreton Bay Wildlife Hospital and issues of homelessness and housing.   In addition to “Going Green as We Grow”, key themes of this year’s Forum are the ongoing challenges of east-west and north-south connections across our region.   Priority items discussed among leaders included:   ✅ The $250 million Buchanan Road Interchange - vital for connecting Waraba’s 70,000 future residents ✅ Open level crossing removals, which dissect the region at seven critical locations ✅ Pushing to deliver the Bruce Highway Western Alternative before the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games ✅ Unlocking the Bay through a potential Moreton Bay Ferry Service (Bay Cats)   This is our second Moreton Bay Leaders’ Forum, which is held every two years.
