Just THIS week, my coach who’s helping me take my podcast to the next level and get more clarity on the business I want to build said, “Julie — You do not need to join another mastermind or pay for another program or course. This is the third week in a month-long celebration of International Women’s Month where I'm sharing words of wisdom from women I’ve interviewed over the years on The Sasuga! Podcast. Learning how to notice, name and process my emotions (in my late 30s!) has changed my life. A stressful family situation led me to therapy in 2020. A untenable work life transitioned me to coaching in 2021. I have since vowed to never stop the truly powerful work of: 1. Managing my mind—"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master." 2. Healing my wounds—"Hurt people, hurt people." 3. Learning to love—"Self love is the key to a joyful life." ^^Shoutout to my coach for crafting this handy dandy roadmap and leading by example. Do you play it safe when sharing your opinion? I did, until NOW. As women (and oftentimes recovering people pleasers) it’s normal to not want to “rock the boat” and ensure that everyone likes you. Yet a series of recent events has led to an awakening that I can no longer NOT share what’s on my mind. I just returned from an industry event filled with top marketers and thought leaders (many who you would recognize). While I networked, caught up with friends, and soaked in the latest insights, I also faced a flood of conflicting advice. And although the actual event was pretty epic and inspiring, I left feeling a bit sad and disappointed. After sitting with it for a few days to figure out why, I had a massive epiphany. I'm so often asked by my network: "how do I get more clients?" "how do I get the promotion?" "how do I make more money?" "how do I make more connections?" The answer lies simply in two words: personal brand. Of course this is nothing new - there have been endless social posts, events, courses, podcasts and books (including my fave "On Brand" by ALIZA LICHT) all speaking to the importance of having a #personalbrand. However, even with all this knowledge, it is so difficult for someone, especially busy women, to take steps to create their personal brand in a way that achieves the visibility and opportunities they want. So this is exactly what I plan to focus on in the workshop co-taught by myself and Meghan Houle, ACC at the Success Unleashed #event: educate women on *how* a personal brand will bring them closer to achieving their goals and help them RIGHT THEN AND THERE to take the *first* steps forward. The goal for every woman in attendance is to leave feeling empowered knowing they are on the path to hitting that long-desired milestone WITH an actionable plan in place to do just that (and more).
