Earlier this year, Vejle Municipality highlighted green initiatives, specifically targeting the shift towards more eco-friendly consumption. This involved an effort to make local businesses more environmentally conscious in their operations—enhancing their ability to convey and negotiate green products and consumption options. Additionally, there was a broader aim to inspire citizens and customers to make greener choices in their day-to-day lives.   Within this context, RE-ZIP - Reusable packaging was spotlighted as an example of how circular packaging can contribute to these objectives, and RE-ZIP boxes were featured in all shop windows associated with the project. Kudos to municipalities like Vejle Kommune for placing green initiatives on their agenda. It's inspiring to see the commitment to eco-conscious endeavors that support actions pushing the boundaries of environmentally friendly development, inspiring others to do the same. 💚🌍

Two heads are better than one! In this case, many heads! Our Corporate Social Responsibility team has been up and running for quite some time now, and we're always looking for fresh perspectives. We've started an initiative with which members of the entire Rotterdam Marriott Hotel team can get involved and submit ideas on how we can become more sustainable. Every quarter, we will crown the person with the best idea as our Sustainability Champion. And drumrolllllll... our Q1 Sustainability Champion is Withney! 🌿🌞 Withney brought to our attention that the most effective recycling happens at the source. Making sure that in each department, with each bin, we ensure we separate our waste, instead of focusing on separation at collection points later in the trash cycle. Inspired by Withney's own town, which is meticulous in its recycling efforts, we will incorporate her idea in each of our departments. 🤝♻️ Do you have more ideas for us? A: Incentivising eco friendly actions with free Big Mac vouchers ♻️ By offering R&A festie-goers a free Big Mac via the Macca’s app if they took their tents home. Our first festie-collab campaign resulted in a 50% reduction in waste across the entire festival! Sometimes it’s the little things that have a big impact. Not only that, but four lucky couples also got to stay in four Big Mac-inspired, fully recyclable tents, complete with festival essentials inside. Each year Australians use 1.84 billion single-use cups. Our Plastic Free Places programme is helping to reduce this huge figure. So far they have eliminated 28,768,385 items of plastic. Today we’re shining the spotlight on one of their members Hanks Corner Cafe in North Perth. They are paving the way to a more sustainable future by creating a culture of reusable cups in their business operations. A strong and lasting partnership on the road to sustainability is indispensable for achieving ambitious goals. 🙌 Since 2017, UAB Švyturys - Utenos alus launched an environmental sustainability programme, "Together Towards Zero and Beyond." This programme responds to the growing consumer demand for sustainable products in the face of global challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, and public health issues. Lithuanian company UAB Kauno stiklas a partner for more than two decades, has come to the rescue to develop more sustainable packaging. Together with UAB Kauno stiklas, we share the same principles – reaching for circular economy and sustainability. I might have the wrong end of the stick here, but I consider the word ‘woke’ to mean ‘awake’ or ‘alert’. In which case the opposite of woke, is to be asleep – less than ideal if you have any degree of responsibility or influence. So, I’ve always found it perplexing when being ‘woke’ is used in a derogatory way. Authenticity is always key, but for the most part, I’m very much inclined to support ‘woke’ businesses.
