Last month we posted an ideal week including hybrid working for a GM and Head Chef. A few chefs had a thing or two to say. We thought we would come back on the some of the responses we received, starting with this one ☝🏾
CREATING A DIVIDE: Your team simply want to work in a safe, organised, structured and efficient kitchen. By you having the sufficient time to complete the admin at home, away from the stress of the kitchen, it will allow you to build an environment which ticks their boxes. They should not feel resentful towards you. When you are with them for at least 3 full shifts a week in service, because you have completed the week’s admin, they will appreciate your company/leadership and presence even more 💜
We get it. This is the dream. It can’t happen for all. But we aim to outline what we (and many others) think perfect looks like so that many business owners and operators can actually strive for it in the future. And this structure does exist in many current kitchens now FYI.
