In a recent interview with Healio, Monte Nido & Affiliates’ Chief Clinical Officer Melissa Orshan Spann, PhD, MBA, CEDS-C, discussed the significance of early detection of eating disorders, especially for primary care physicians (PCPs) and pediatricians. Dr. Spann emphasized the need for a non-discriminatory approach to discussing food and body image with patients, as eating disorders can impact anyone, especially with the increasing influence of social media. Our commitment to raising awareness about eating disorders and working toward their eradication is fundamental to our mission. PCPs and pediatricians play a crucial role in the early detection and thus a stronger fight for recovery for their patients. Thank you to Healio for this opportunity to raise awareness.
