This is where I was born, and it’s a simple answer. It’s Fish and Chips. Fish and chips are a staple, menu item in the UK and it's often sold at what they call chippers or fish and chip shops. They used to serve fish and chips in the newspaper back in the days when I was growing up. Now it is served in a kind of greaseproof paper, but you can still go to what they call a chippy or a chipper and get your fish and chips to take out. Take them away and go walk and eat them or go sit on a park bench and eat them, - my favorite place is to eat them at the ocean or by the seaside as it is called there. So, yeah, I miss fish n chips out of the newspaper at the seaside. Bob: Hey Bing! Get that pipe out of my ear! Bing: That’s an ear? Bob: What did you think this hole is for—air conditioning? Bing: Well, you are a hot head. Bob: If my name was Curly Howard, I’d moidilize you. Bing: That’s murder, Bob. Murder. Bob: Well, you do what you want and I’ll do what I want. Bing: Bob--I’ll remove it under one condition. Bob: Nahhh, leave it in if you’re going to sing. Bing: I was going to say—I’ll remove it if I can keep the potatoes. Bob: What potatoes? Bing: The two spuds growing in your ear canal. Bob: (Laughs) Oh, those? It’s my “victory garden.” You should see what’s growing in my other ear? (Bing takes a look into Bob’s other ear) Bing: Hmmmm, I see french fries and a bottle of ketchup. Bob: Look closer; there’s a salt shaker somewhere in there. Bing: If the G.I.’s could only be this self-sufficient they wouldn’t need K-rations. Bob: It’s better than pulling a coin out of your ear. (Bob rethinks that) Or is it? Bing: Don’t tell Jack Benny! Bob: Yeah, he could retire by the time he’s 39. (Bing removes pipe from ear; then bends forward to inspect ear with one eye). Bing: I think a gopher just ate your potatoes. Bob: That furry thing? That’s Colonna. With that mustache he’s the second best thing since they invented the street sweeping truck. Mean Squirrels Who run the world? Squirrels. Grool. We meant to write cool but then started to write great. The California ground squirrel (Otospermophilus beecheyi) is found in a wide range of habitat ranging from southern Washington to northern California. So, fetch. It’s happening. This squirrel can be identified by its mottled fur with colors of gray, brown, and white, and a poofy tail. (It’s full of secrets.) They’re known to eat a variety of foods such as nuts, seeds (is that a carb?), berries, toaster strudels, insects, and in drier climates, they forage all year long. They also can stuff multiple food stores in their cheeks to be used for eating at later dates. Pretend you didn’t hear that. They aren’t really mean, until they are. Aren’t we all?
