During one day we can go through a whole range of emotions from: Desperation Thinking about how it could be better for yourself. Feeling happier and being able to see something better. To being super excited about a particular moment in life. Why, because as human beings this is what we're capable of if we allow ourselves to be like this. I am a family mentor for Back Up Trust and one of the things that comes up regularly from a family member after their loved one has sustained a spinal cord injury is, "I feel guilty for having time to enjoy myself whilst they are struggling." Even in the darkest periods of our life, you can still have excitement and laughter. It may feel strange, you may feel guilty, but it's about allowing yourself to feel this, by letting it into your life and not feeling bad about these times when the rest of your life may feel as if it's falling apart. Allowing yourself to experience the desperation and the heartache is important to be able to work through them. But, you shouldn't numb yourself to the enjoyment and fun that you may feel guilty about. This is you living a half-life whatever is happening. SO. Where are you right now with your emotions, feelings and thoughts? Are they where you want them to be? How would you like them to be different? What one thing can you do to get you closer to having these emotions, feelings and thoughts?
