What an amazing couple of days delivering the Leadership and Management training to Kelvin Power as part of the Omexom UK leadership academy we have rolled out. We have been travelling all over the UK and Ireland to support their leaders and managers to develop their knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes towards leadership. We have seen some huge developments so far and delegates are already putting this into practice in the workplace. Omexom are a fantastic company with great values such as innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration that truly run through the whole organisation. Laura Bridgeman and I were privileged to run a pilot course with the board and then roll this out across the UK and Ireland. We have seen first hand how well information is cascaded through the organisation and they all live by the same values. The group I had this week were able to overcome a challenge of implementing some new software which could revolutionise the way they design, but as ever when implementing a change there will be resistance. We worked through this using a root cause analysis, De Bono 6 thinking hats and a PDCA cycle. I could see the energy levels rise and the weight being lifted in the room as the group got real clarity and a clear direction of how to move forwards. It was an unbelievable moment and one of the reasons I love my job (it's not a job really), and demonstrates what training in the right environment can do for individuals, teams and organisations.
