The RIEGL VZ600i is probably the fastest 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanner out in the market. It takes just 40 seconds for colourised scans, including auto levelling and data writing. This is achieved by fast auto leveling, mirror spooling while auto leveling, and fast data writing speeds with its internal SSD. It can also take photos while scanning. We can also choose to take the photos after scanning as shown in the video. Why choose? Taking photos in an ultra bright outdoor environment allows for fast shutter speeds, and low motion blur. So, we can comfortably snap photos while the scan is being done, and save time. However, slower shutter speeds in darker environment is required. So the photo needs to be taken while the scanner is not moving to eliminate motion blur. With such customisation and speeds, digitising massive areas gets increasingly more efficient and accurate. GL OPTICAM 4.0 M SC imaging luminance camera is an innovative solution on the market of luminance and color distribution measurements. A novelty on the market is the integration of imaging luminance & color measurement with readings from an integrated spectroradiometer in the range from ultraviolet to near infrared. GL OPTICAM 4.0 M SC is not a standard imaging luminance camera, since a single enclosure hosts two separate devices. The addition of spectral power distribution measurements constitutes a rich source of supplementary information about the measured object. RIEGL's latest terrestrial laser scanner, the #VZ600i, is probably the fastest 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanner out in the market right now. From scan to scan, It takes a mere 40 seconds for an output of colourised scans. That includes auto levelling and data writing. REIGL is able to achieve the fast auto leveling by carrying out auto levelling while the mirror spools up. Coupled with fast data writing speeds due to its internal SSD and the ability to take photos while scanning further adds to its appeal. We can also choose to take the photos after scanning as shown in this video taken by Gowtham Elan at Geo Connect Asia. I'm on the road this week and had a quiet moment in Wanaka today to capture this skate bowl with the Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon #BLK360 imaging laser scanner. This video shows some of my favourite features of the #Cyclone3DR software: 1. The ease with which the fully automated "Scan to Mesh" tool creates a lightweight mesh with stunning real-colour texture. 2. The synchronised split screen view (point cloud on the left, textured mesh on the right). Configure the visible layers in each view as you please. 3. The ability to quickly and easily capture a video using a user-defined camera path. Together these features produce a powerful visualisation of the current condition of this asset.
