Words aren’t enough to express the amount of gratitude I feel to be able to live the life I choose to live every single day. 🙏 I am extremely grateful for all of those who have supported the vision of JAS Drinks to create alcohol-free beverages that embody the BOLDness to go out into the world exactly as you are. I know I have been very fortunate to have grown up in a family with a brother (Luis G. Rios M.) who has supported all my crazy endeavors, no matter what. I am blessed to have found a co-founder in Jaymee Mandeville who constantly encourages me to do what I do best, and I am very lucky to have a best friend Alicia Catelli who always has my back!! Entrepreneurship is a team sport and whoever says they can do it all by themselves is lying. I couldn’t be standing here without every single person who has supported me and our vision along the way. 2024 is truly turning out to be the year of JAS Drinks! First, we got accepted to be part of Project W's Emerging Food Brands Lab, then we made it as a semifinalist at BevNET.com's New Beverage Showdown, and there's other great news I can't share yet, but it's BIG!!! 🌟 But one of the greatest news is that I can officially announce my new role as CEO of JAS Live Free, Inc. I know my mentor Damon DeVito would be so proud to see this moment. I am beyond thrilled to embark on this new chapter in my journey, leading an incredible and talented team that will continue to grow as JAS becomes a leading name in the world of better-for-you beverages. I am infinitely grateful to all my mentors and colleagues at Bain & Company who have been invested in my development from day 1. I take all the lessons and experiences with me as I step into this new role. It's fantastic to witness fellow University of Virginia Darden School of Business alumni making strides in innovation in the CPG industry! 💥 During my time at Darden, I recall pitching JAS in entrepreneurial competitions and hearing about the uphill battle CPG companies faced against Tech ventures. Despite that, JAS secured 3rd place in the Launch ECup Competition in 2022, earning us $10,000 to kickstart our journey, thanks to the support of the Darden community and the Batten Institute. Today, with three Launch ECup finalists being CPG ventures, it's clear that Darden is establishing itself as a powerhouse in consumer products innovation. Kudos to Sonia Hounsell from Funk Off (MBA '99), my classmate Gretchen Pace and all the trailblazing minds shaping the future of CPG at Darden.
