Today, ARV launches a new event, developed specifically for the Victorian Aquatics and Recreation Industry. Creating LGBTQIA+ Safe Environments: Scenario Discussion Panel Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) are hosting a panel discussion for aquatic, fitness, stadium, and leisure centre leaders to explore access, equity and inclusion scenarios occurring within community facilities. Feedback to ARV outlined a need to further explore industry-specific scenarios affecting inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people that are unique to Aquatics and Recreation environments, as well as discuss opportunities to respond. ARV have identified key areas of support: ➡️ How to navigate challenging scenarios ➡️ How to respond when matters escalate ➡️ How to ensure all patrons and staff are safe and supported, regardless of identity To address this need, ARV have developed a specialised Scenario Discussion Panel - a forum of experts discussing de-identified case studies from within the industry. Panellists have been selected to bring various expertise, knowledge and experience to the discussion.
