🇵🇹 Portugal → 🇮🇪 Dublin: My LinkedIn Adventure! In August 2022 I landed in Dublin to join LinkedIn's DACH team, a whole new world away from Portugal! (Yes, a bit of a culture chameleon, here!) Almost 2 years have passed and I feel like sharing a bit of my story. I am not going to lie, it can be scary (new country, new culture, new tech gig!) to take such a leap of faith, but there are factors in my move & decision, which made everything easier: 👩👩👧👦 Speaking with people in the same situation as I was (there are amazing Portuguese people at LinkedIn & in Dublin, I must add!) to collect tips & ask questions; 🔉 Asking the important questions in my interview process (how is the culture, what are LinkedIn´s most important values, etc.) to feel if this company was truly the right fit for me; 🖊 Being welcomed by my team members and manager even before starting (everyone wrote me a message to make me feel welcome before Day 1 - this made the first day less scary) Now, after connecting with incredible people from all walks of life, Dublin feels like home. I must state that LinkedIn as a company truly embraces its employees, which simplified everything even more: supportive colleagues, internal mobility opportunities (switched teams!), and a genuine focus on our well-being. After sharing this, if anyone in my community (maybe there are German-speakers out there, who are thinking of their next move? 😜 ) is considering taking a similar leap, you can 100% talk to me. I'm happy to share more of how this transformative adventure has been and I assure you, it is an adventure worth taking!
