Fondazione Ivo de Carneri is one of the partner organizations that host the students of our Master in Global Health (MGH) for their field #internship. Every year MGH students can spend one month in a primary care setting in #eSwatini, #Guatemala, #Pakistan, #Tanzania or #Uganda to put into practice what they have learnt during the MGH lectures. On the 13th of June, we welcomed at our offices Kajal Chhaganlal, MD, researcher, and pedagogical director of the Catholic University of #Mozambique. The visit was part of the Erasmus-KA171-Global Health project, which we are implementing in partnership with the Catholic University of Mozambique and Medici con l'Africa Cuamm/ Doctors with Africa CUAMM. The 3-year project includes the mobility of teachers and students to and from the Department of Medicine of the Università degli Studi di Milano and the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Universidade Católica de Moçambique. We discussed with Dr. Chhaganlal our programs and our Master in Global Health, their projects in the field, and future developments. Dr. Chhaganlal also had meetings with the First Pro-rector for Internationalization and her team, to plan for this exchange, and to explore future opportunities for collaboration, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Giannì. #Erasmus #Mobility #GlobalHealth

We are extremely proud of this recognition, as the book embodies MACH's identity as a catalyst for #partnerships and #multidisciplinarity in addressing #GlobalHealth challenges. The book is the collective effort of an international team of 5 editors and 150 authors from prestigious institutions worldwide, many of them collaborating with our Master in Global Health. 📅 The 7th of April is #WorldHealthDay. On this day, in 1948, 76 years ago, WHO was born to promote health for all people worldwide. In spite of the huge amount of work done so far, many people still cannot access quality healthcare services timely and at an affordable price. The theme of this year, #MyHealthMyRight, encourages decisive action. Though WHO has identified at least 140 countries that recognize health as a human right in their constitution, only 4 countries have mentioned how to finance it.  💰 In 2021 governments worldwide allocated an average 3.6% of their gross domestic product to finance healthcare, which is about half of the countries' total expenditure on health. As a result, families face economic hardships and incur catastrophic costs when trying to access healthcare. In 2019, more than 290 million people spent more than 25% of their family income on health, and 55 million people were pushed below the $ 2.5 per day poverty line by health expenditure for their family. 🎓 This is why our Master in Global Health includes education on universal health coverage, social protection mechanisms, health systems, health economics and financing to train students on how to fully understand the key relationship between health and economic development, and how to develop - and advocate for - more sustainable and equitable health financing systems worldwide. #Health4All #HealthSystems #HealthFinancing #SocialProtection Università degli Studi di Milano
